    do you think will stay?

    I think:

    Pudli
    Anya
    Ekstrand
    Battocchio

Just wonder if Abdi and Vydra might get offers the Pozzos cannot turn down but if they don't then great.

Think Casseti might retire and the rest let go.

Apparently the Pozzo family have already had meetings with the 3 clubs and it was agreed that the following will be signed over to us, Abdi, Anya, Battochio, Ekstrand, Neuton, Pudil and Vydra.

Should also be a few more coming over on loan.

I hope we do sign some permanently but will only be convinced when I see it. I just don't see the point of it; The 'company' will be opening itself up to tax obligations to the UK and Italian governments completly unnecessarily.
I believe that if the rules stay as they are, they will predominantly stay as loanees but if the rules change then they will sign as many as possible and the rest (up to 5 or 7) will be on loan.

As Chris mentions, it could depend on if the rules pertaining to loan players from foreign clubs change or not. But I am sure that Abdi, Pudil, Ekstrand and Anya will sign permanent contracts - psi lay others and maybe some new players coming in on a year loan. Unfortunately it will mean a big clear out of players as well :- Hall, Eustace are obvious, but maybe even names like Assamalonga (yeah I know **** spelling) will be sold or released. Next season will be a big push for promotion as thr Pozzo's really understand the finances in English football.

Does anyone know when the meeting is where the football league chairman are due to vote on the alleged rule change? I suspect that if the loan rule is not changed then most of the players will stay on loan.

What is interesting about this proposed vote to add a new rule restricting foreign loan players is that it seems to be proposed by supporters of other clubs who seem to be rather bitter and twisted about it. I have not heard any other chairman speaking about it publically - not even the Palace chairman!

I can't remember where I heard it (possibly TalkSport, so tend not to believe it) but they have said that the general consensus was that the Chairman will vote against getting rid of this rule as they see it as a good opportunity themselves.

If this is true, I think I would like us to get some of the players on long-term, permanent contracts (Vydra, Abdi, Anya, Battocchio, Ekstrand, Pudil) while maybe bringing a few more just on loan, like Neuton who still unsure about and a couple of the new guys. This would make sure we are not lumbered with a large wage bill and can see how these others fit in.

I'm assuming with this new rule you can still bring in foreign loans but will be more in line with the domestic loans - ie only 2 from one club. So that still means we can get 2 from Udinese and 2 from Granada!

It'll be just our luck for the rule to remain in place and then we see Bayern, Real, Ajax, PSG and AC Milan to buy championship clubs!

Yes, I would be more than happy for it to be closed too. It still means about 4 players are available on loan while the rest get signed up permanently... and no-one else can use the rule

I did hear the same on 5live.

It won't be closed - limited maybe.

BTW I look forward to Palace buying loads of English players and none from abroad for their Premier league campaign.

If Hollowhead is true to his word, he will be giving "young English players" their opportunity, rather than buy in, as he appears to champion their cause every time he opens his mouth to complain about us.

I don't think that the loan issue is actually such a big issue anyway. Even if the rules on overseas loans are brought into line with those on domestic loans, we could still have up to 8 players on loan (age restrictions apply) with up to 5 named to the match day squad. Four of the loans can be from the same club, so signing up just a couple of the Udinese guys still leaves scope for 4 loans from that source, plus Granada. Eight loans in total gives scope for match day squad rotation/backup. We will cope!
