Just to lighten the mood a little, how many games into the season will it be before Man Utd get above us in the league? (I suppose I should add 'if ever'). My opinion is that the cream will rise to the top eventually, but based on what I've seen so far it could take several weeks, so I'm going for somewhere around the end of November @ 12 games in after we've just lost to Man City at the Etihad. When, or if, it finally happens, we can check back to see who's the nearest! It's so much fun! P.S. rules of the thread: a) no need to mention Monk or Laudrup b) in terms of grammar and punctuation, anything goes without comment from others
LVG has a lot of shiny cogs but I'm not sure they make a machine. I think he's going to struggle to form a cohesive unit especially if he persists with his 3-5-2 -- uness the players that have been brought in are more familiar with the system. Big questions still revolve around is defensive unit. I am not sure that he was able to bring in the players to make that work. Phil Jones gets it and has been covering the others heroically but the others are still struggling. I am not sure they could climb past us this season. If we average out to the lower end of the top half of the table, I still don't see United finishing above us.
Man U caught and passed us after 7 games ... as predicted by old roofy , if there is anything else you want to know , just ask ..lol . That being said , we will catch and pass Man U after 9 games .
I'll be surprised roof. People like Plastic keep trumpeting we're in fourth (fifth now) and he's right that's great, but they conveniently forget we're three points off 15th. A bit more application and concentration is needed if we're to maintain our aspirations of being top half come May. For all the excuses we make - me included - we let 2 points slip yesterday to a team whose own fans were chanting they were **** and who hadn't scored a single goal away from home all season. Cisse could hardly hit a barn door for two seasons and guess what he did? Must improve imo.
United are injury infested at the moment , if not for the absolute quality of their keeper today they would have not gotten 3 points . Best display by a keeper Ive seen in ages . We will overtake them by 9 games , goes to show us how lucky we were to get Man U out of the gate this season with 4hier nerves getting the better of tyem .. but you dont keep a team like Man U down for long...
