Did we just get a result against Hull again?...... Thought I was on the wrong match thread then BTW Lonergan saved the penalty didn't he? - He is paid to do or at least attempt to do that when we have one awarded against us...
I guess, TC, if you hadn't been so unlucky this year, you might have won a home game? lol But seriously, you gotta be bad if you can't beat a team that shipped seven at home to Forest. I mean, anyone would gave assumed this would be a walk in the park, huh? We want 10?
Lucky ha!? you were VERY VERY poor for a home side with a good record against us, especially after we shipped in 7 goals proving our defense is pretty ****. You only have yourselves to blame for playing like that at home to a side who leaks goals like the titanic.
ow come on TC don't take it so bad m8.
Should have been a point. What the ref was doing was just bizarre. The law of the game is to search for an advantage, if there isn't one then give the freekick.
That's incorrect. There is advantage anywhere. However, the natural reaction to a foul on the edge of the box (just inside) when the ball squirms away out of the box (as in this situation), is to give the penalty as that is the most advantageous decision. In general, a referee will only ever play advanatage in the box is if there is an easy open goal opportunity. Otherwise, referees are advised to blow. Not sure if Probert did say such a thing; if he did, it would discredit him, so I suspect this is paraphrasing from others who may have spoken to him. Unluckily for Wall, their player on the edge of the box hit the ball sweetly in to the goal, but as the whistle had already gone, you could say that the defenders and goalkeeper's reactions were dulled. So it's not possible to claim any of the claims: should have been a goal, there is no advantage in the box, etc etc
In all honesty, it was't even a penalty. The only penalty you deserved was the the handball inside the box.
