Now I'm not calling for his head yet but after being defeated by Altringham questions have to be asked and quickly otherwise we will be in the conference south before any inquest can be made. Tough times and I'm afraid Higgs is going to have his hand forced soon if things don't pick up. Unfortunately we do not have the luxury of giving Clarke till the traditional Christmas deadline. Question is if Higgs and co decide to dispense with Clarke who the hell is going to step in to manage us? Will the last one out turn off the lights....the party is over!
i just dont know. i really wanted it to work out for him. it still may do so but these 3 games has turned a lot of fans against him and when that happens, its very rare a manager can come back from that. massive pressure on his head now. i will be surprised if higgs dont react by october if things continue. if we drop into the bottom 4 then that has to wake up higgs into action.
I can honestly see him going before the transfer window shuts....oh hang on does it apply in non league?
After the end of last season I never wanted Clarke in the first place, but I thought we should stick by him when it came apparent that the useless fat inept **** Higgs and his band of merry ****ers were going for the cheap option yet again. Clarke is just like everyone else at the club in a position of responsibility - clueless and out of his depth. In an ideal world Clarke would **** off and we'd get someone in with experience. In a utopian world Clarke and the whole board would **** off and the club would be run on a community basis, owned by the fans.
That is far to long if we really are to get out of this 5th Division. Waiters, Postmen, Baliffs, Bar Persons just about anyone please apply to Bristol Rovers Football Club if you feel you might make it as a part time Pro. Lots of vaccancies exist with this progressive ex league Football Club. Oh and if you can manage a kids 5 aside team a managerial position is also shortly arise. Might suit someone of very limited experience and totally out of their depth. Clarke has outstayed his welcome. Crocodile tears last Season cut no ice with me and now every Gas Head should be in tears tonight. Clarke must go IMHO, Now.
Like some others on here, I had a lot of faith in both Clarke and the squad he had assembled and felt we had enough to put up a reasonable show in this league and mayb e even find ourselves in the shake up at the end of the season with a bit of luck! Now after a mere 3 games, I'm seriously concerned that we are totally out of our depth. The draw with Grimsby was disappointing but not the end of the world, losing at Barnet wasn't a total surprise but with all due respect to Altringham, todays result is shocking and a real wake up call as to how poor we really are! The bottom line is that if we cant get anything, let alone a win against a team like Altringham, then we are deluding ourselves to think that this season will be anything other than a total embarrassment and the annual relegation scrap. Watch the crowds drop off for the next home game now following todays shambles, and who can blame them? The answer is a mystery to me at present, how we are ever going to entice anyone of quality to this outfit, either playing staff or managerial is beyond me, it seems we're stuck with what we've got but to be honest, and unless we are gifted a minor miracle in the near future, its going to be a long and worrying season, and what's more, any hope of regaining our football league status looks a lifetime away at present. Any bored oil barons or the like with a few zillion pounds burning a hole in their pocket who are reading this forum and need a football club to play with, please apply here!
Not another second if ask me!! simple he has not a clue... to loose against a team made up of part time players is a joke!! DC has not got the contacts or the know how to be able to bring in the players we need to get out of this mess... We cant afford to give this man another second not alone up to xmas, when it be all over by then anyway!! Time for Higgs and co to stop going for the cheap option and put there hands in there pockets and get us out of this mess they put us in the first place... At this rate the future is bleak!! i can already hear the future reports saying we where unlucky to lose against a strong Mangotsfield side..... I shouldn't joke!! I really cannot believe what is going on at the moment but we need a big change and quick!!
I've been saying this for a long time now, DC had no option but to hit the ground running this season. Hes had the money to build Hes had the time to make the squad his And hes had the support (up till now) despite a relegation simply not good enough if it wasnt for the fact I brought a fgr away ticket I wouldnt be going to see them play until it picks up!
Just seen this on the football rumours website - sounds unlikely - what do you think? 17 Aug 2014 21:19:57 Bristol rovers in talks with Alan Curbishly to become manager after appalling start in the conference by Darrell Clarke. meeting has taken place with chairman nick higgs at secret location in Italy this weekend.
Pmsl another dig at Higgs taking holiday. However he better get home soon before his empire is no more. With Geoff Dunford gone I can see him wanting his money invested out. Bradshaw, a GD croney will most likely be next. It's sad that the family who saved Rovers have left but with all that's gone on personally and publically who could blame him. Think it said how disgruntled he was at the end of last season when he said 30 years wasted.
its from the football rumours website. anyone posts a rumour on their and 99% of the time is total nonsense. http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/search.php cheers smhbcfc for the info
As I said in the post I saw it on the "football rumours" website - I have no idea if there is something in it or something completely made up? It was posted by someone called "piratedave"
10 games is a good guide so seeing if things are improving. From what I've seen the coaching staff have their work cut out trying to tighten things up. It looks like a classic case of a manager trying to get very average players to do more than they are capable of rather than simply using their strengths to get the best out of them. Football's a simple game, but not when you are changing formation two or three times a game or when the players aren't even getting the basics right.
prime example was moving sinclair to RB. according to the altrincham fans on their fans forum, they thought he was our best player, until he was moved to RB. and then got sent off of course meaning misses the telford game.
Spoke to DC yesterday when I purchased Saturdays match ticket. He struck me as being somebody who really cares about the club and is looking for improvement from the team
Well OT at least you spoke to him some on here would like to lump the bugger so good on you for being so restrained. We all care about the bloody Club and the team that DC turns out, he probably cared a lot for Salisbury at the time but Football Managers come and go. Fans on the other hand are forever. Sadly he is way out of his depth, has no contacts who are worth a light (based on signings and loan signings thus far) and seems content to struggle on because I bet the monies good and who the f5ck would want him ? His greatest achievement so far, taking Rovers out of the League. Classic. A few tears and long faces dont make football manager. Its having the ability to nuture raw talent and create a one for all attitude aka Twerton days. No big time Charlies just a bunch of grafters who wanted to play for The Shirt, Fans and The Manager. The team can only improve as they currently are a shambles as his DC and his inability to stick with a playable formation.
the chat i have had and all the interviews that he has given makes me agree 100% with you. but we need to see this on the pitch from the players if you know what i mean. at the moment, we aint!
