So when a club goes in for a player and tries to sign them.... how long should a club wait before moving on to another target? I think hardball is the way to play it. Go in, give 72 hours for an initial response and up to a week for talks to commence and advance to a more formal level. Agents play too many games at times like this given the riches on offer so **** em. We (and other clubs) should send out a clear message that no one player will be allowed to dictate any clubs given transfer strategy for hanging around in the hope of a 'better offer' elsewhere. If a player wants to sign... he won't hang around.. he'll just sign.
Well, we need to give Tammy a day then jack him off! (When I say jack him off I don't mean in the dirty ol' man way)
He's said he is going to concentrate on U21 tournament and consider transfers after that. Seems sensible enough to me, even if it isn't what we want to hear
I don't think there is a one size Fitz Hall rule to all this to be honest. Patience is a virtue. Some deals take longer than others and players/agents have too much power now. They can play with clubs showing interest to a certain degree. Even the top clubs get messed around, so I don't think the Newcastle's of this world are going to fare any better.
Abraham has had way more time than a player needs before committing a year to a big football club. He looks already too big for his boots. Cancel the offer and move on.
To be fair to Abraham he is away with the U21 and has already said everything is on hold until the tournament is over - rightly so. I hate it when the international prima donnas are jetting off to take medicals etc when they are meant to be preparing or playing for their ****ing country!
The way he's been speaking suggests Rafa always knew this and isn't a case of him dicking us around. If that's the case wait, if not he should have already had his opportunity to join us denied
Nowadays people play for themselves and their bank balance. Not many have a great sense of loyalty. I support players who give 100% for the shirt.
No such thing. Best to aim for is a solid honest professsional. Might be that young Tampax is one of those. His record perhaps suggests he is and the U21 thing might be commitment. I'm not so sure - I think he has a lot of talent and a much bigger ego. He wants a bigger club and feels a decent tournament might get him that chance. We are a fallback option, is how it feels. I think we are better than that, especially when we are only talking about a loan deal.
