To get out of League 1? Don't underestimate that League - far bigger clubs like Leeds, Charlton, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd and Millwall took several seasons to get out
Don't think it will be at the first attempt. We will go down and have to rebuild the team probably with youth, possibly be challenging in th top half. Have the season after with the Bristol derbies back as I think they will come up next season and come back up then so see you if you stay up in 3 years
I believe we are in for several years back in League One. City have never bounced straight back up and with a completely rebuilt team in the offing for next season, I do not see any reason to believe that we have even a remote chance of instant promotion. This is not being defeatist but simply realistic.
I think we will finish top 6 if everything it done correctly. We have the right manager in to get us out of league 1 at the first attempt. We have about 5 players if we keep will have no problem in league 1 and deserve to be top half in the championship. If we can keep them then I think a top 6 is do-able.
To be honest it's a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. Until we know what budget we have - who is staying - what other teams are in the division etc, etc it's impossible to say
Is this even English? Learn to speak our language or get back on the boat home; bloody Welsh immigrants coming over here, shagging our jobs and taking our women. That Offa should've built a wall instead of a very long lesbian.
coud handle a couple of seasons in div 1, if it means we bring youngsters on and generaly sort ourselves out. have a great day out sat tc. only a little bloody jealous
Cosidering how smug our management were after our promotion to the Championship I hope they don't think they will have an easy task gaining back that status. I truly now believe that we are a poorly run team and somewhere deep in the woodpile is a skeletom hiding that has led us to this sad point in our history. Wrong decisions made time after time have left me wondering and frustrated as to who our nemesis actually is, and I think if you look in the direction of the board then I don't think you will be far off the mark. As far as when we might rise again then I am tempted to say that I really don't give a damn but I know better than that, but I expect it will be at least 5 years knowing the clubs propensity for getting things so wrong. Whoever has been the reason for this debacle hasa disgraced our football club and shoved yet another finger up the supporters noses. Shame on them and good riddance to the players who will inevitably say they can't stay because they are worthy of playing in the Championship. Message to the rats leaving the ship "You had the football that you wanted but clearly had no dedication to BCFC to retain it for the supporters" so now get lost in your own admiration. Goodbye!
Personally I'm looking forward to a successful season next year - it's been a while since we were doing anything but fighting relegation and the thrill of being top 6 is something that I'd like to feel again. It's easy for all of us to criticize the Board and they have undoubtedly made mistakes but we should all feel good that SL is still behind us and would surely like to see a modicum of success for all the cash he has invested. I like the young player philosophy and can only hope that we slowly build an exciting young team that will make us enjoy our Saturdays again.
Not sure if this is a wind up or not, but I would argue that neither Charlton or Milwall is a bigger club than ours, and Sheff Utd about the same, but agree Sheff Wed & Leeds are bigger, but they were in big financial disarray, whereas right now we are not. It will largely depend on what players we keep. If we keep our strikers and keeper we should be pushing for top spot, if we lose most of our better players then it will be top half to play offs.
