How long before Watmore gets a place on the bench?

I thought he really impressed during pre season and now Poyet has had him training with the first team...Personally I would love to see him on the bench and then brought on as an impact player..
How do others feel about him?

I have to agree mate, if Altidore & Graham are picked ahead of him you'd have to wonder how fast his 'fast track' is progressing.

If that's the case then not very well it would seem.

He looks like he can handle himself, so I'd love to see him get a run out. Rooney was playing at 17, so it's not an age thing, necessarily. I have high hopes for this kid!

Whilst Giaccherini and Alvarez are injured he should definitely be on the bench. There is no point in both Altidore and Graham being on the bench.

I love the look of him. Seems a splice of Buckley and AJ, can dribble through a crowd yet can beat a man directly with pace. I've heard his final ball is the biggest problem and that's what he's working on.

I do like the look of him, but also Mavrias, I think Mavrias is closer to being first team standard at the minute.

I'd have thought/hoped at least one of them would be making the odd appearance by now.

This is exactly the angle I was coming from...He is surely worth a place ahead of Graham who has done sod all for us, and let's face it, Altodore for all his undoubted effort hasn't exactly set the world alight for us..

    I don't think he's a striker like, no way, he's a wide man imo

I have only seen Watmore pre season and he looked very good, he deserves his chance on the bench along with Mavrias, who also looks a decent player.

I think we need to look at new talent carefully before we put them in boxes.

Watmore is quick and two footed and would be ideal playing off someone like Wickham imo or switching wings with AJ or Buckley.

I honestly think he would be ideal playing off a main striker and could definitely see him playing off either Fletcher or Wickham. When he plays out wide he does have a tendency to cut in anyway and take the shortest route to goal..

I see him as great potential for an inside forward and I think Gus will develop him that way. I prefer wide men to cut in and let the fullbacks provide the width anyway. Wide in a front three for me atm.
