He should have stuck to the 'everyone deserves a second chance' angle, questioning the validity of the conviction really isn't very clever at all.
Yeah, he's really opened himself up for criticism here, even if that is his opinion he should be looking at how much trouble everyone has got in trouble recently for voicing their opinions.
Cue the unwarranted abuse from some on here once again... Don't apologise Brucey. It's exactly what the ****s on social media want.
Well done Steve. You're a bit dim at times and I don't know if you really knew what you were doing when you said that, but well done for stepping up and offering support to a fellow professional in this trial by Twitter.
With this subject it's incredibly hard to sit back and watch people talk bollocks about how he "shouldn't play again, why should he earn all that money" so I see it as no surprise that Bruce struggled to hold back, he may upset some people but that's his opinion and he's entitled to it. I seriously hope he doesn't apologise.
****s sake Brucie. The one thing we do know for sure is that Evans is a convicted rapist. That's why people see him as one. No amount of pro Evans propaganda, which it sounds like you've spent too much time reading, changes that. I'd also like to add that Evans behaviour in all of this has been that of a ****.
Naive or simply brave for having the stones to state his opinion openly? I think it's a case of him letting his gob run away with him personally, He's had a brain fart here and he's going to have every bra burner from Lands End to John O'Groats hammering him on social media as a result.
He should have stayed well clear of it till the result of the criminal review board come back with there findings.
Agreed, he can't even send an email, how's he going to figure out how to find out what people are saying about him on Twitter?
He's a nice fella is Brucie and I doubt he'll enjoy being made out to be some mysognist pig, which is what will undoubtedly happen here.
I personally think you should be very proud to have a manager who is a sensible human being and spoke out about something which is quite possibly the biggest media farce I have seen in a long time! I am a Bristol City fan and think Ched (despite being a total ****) isn't guilty of rape. Before people start throwing stones, they should really ask themselves how many times have they had what they thought was consentual sex with a drunk person? Because according to the judge that handed down a sentence, anyone who is over the drink drive limit is deemed unable to give consent! Fair play to Steve Bruce and I hope more come forward.
MacDonald had consensual sex with the same drunk person and was found not guilty. The jury decided she was too drunk not the judge. There is a deference between what the judge said before the verdict and what he said afterward he was found guilty.
