Typically the majority of the Leeds fans slagged off the signing of Lonergan, but they guy has been a revelation! arguably the player of the season for me (between him Clayton n McCormack)

I feel sorry for Lonergan because I can imagine him been England number 2 by now if he had been treated right by a proper club rather than geting left to rot by Preston

750k for Kasper is a complete and utter bargain.

6 clean sheets so far this season <ok>

Glad Lonergan has been decent for you but Kasper has somewhat single handedly kept us in a decent position this season so far.

He'll be a top, top keeper when he's a little older. In fact, he could walk into most Premier League clubs now <ok>

Im not arguing with you about this again!

You are the reason Kaspers head is so far up his arse! everyone feast out of it!!!!

I watched Kasper all last season and Lonergan for 11 games, Lonergan is a lot better but he just gets on with business quietly rather than trying to make himself look good and he doesnt have his daddies name to live off! Kasper I agree is a great shot stopper but is rubbish at everything else!

He is however very good at picking the ball out of the back of his net and kicking it as far as he possibly can so away fans can laugh like **** at him

I have seen him play 11 games this season and not once have I been let down by him.

we've conceded less than a goal a game with him and have kept 6 clean sheets.

    Quality.

Good stats but as I said yesterday Lonergan makes more saves per game than Kasper, You're telling me his sending off didnt let you down and cost you 2 points?

You can only save what is put infront of you and Kasper saves 5 shots per goal whereas Lonergan makes 3.7 saves per goal....

The referee failed to let Kasper know he was booked, the referee let me down.

But he has earnt 3 points against Southampton, 1 against Middlesborough and 1 against Cardiff.

The shots per goal stat is false

Lonergan saves on average 5.5 shots per game

Whereas Kasper only saves 5.1 shots per game

Kasper is just lucky that the shots he doesnt save miss whereas lonergan hasnt been so lucky.

I rate both as keepers, but Kasper can be a liability at times. Poor decision making, doesn't command respect from the defence has he gives none the other way, and his ego problems are well documented. A great shotstopper as YNBK has pointed out, but his unreliability is his main fault, and as a GK that is perhaps the worst fault to have.

When we signed Lonners I felt that we had signed an inferior keeper to Kasper, but after seeing a dozen or so appearances with Lonners and all season with Kasper, i was wrong.... well wrong. Lonergan is a fantastic keeper, perhaps the best we've had in a Leeds shirt since Martyn. The only time I have felt he could've done something better was with one of the goals in the 1st game against the Saints but Leeds were poor all over that game. I know We all want to stick up for our keepers, but I'm telling you AKCJ's, Kasper isn't a bad keeper by any stretch of the imagination, Lonergan is just better.

Prolific will you also explain to him that his theory of saves per goal is ****e and that Lonergan stats of saves per game shows he is better than Kasper!

Personally, I was just worried that he'd end up like Schmeichel which is what I said on the thread linked in the OP. I still have that fear, and base it on the fact that somehow Ankergren, Higgs and Schmeichel all made excellent starts and then looked like shells of their former selves. That can't be a coincidence.

Have'nt seen Lonergan so cannot comment on how well he's playing but Kasper has been excellent for us this season - long may it continue!

Oh & good luck for rest of season (Apart from when you play Leicester) - worked in Ossett for a while and had some good banter with Leeds fans especially over Steve Howard!

Lonergan wasn't first choice, we sold Kasper without a replacement. We tried and sniffed round a few then came back for Lonergan... Quality wise I had no idea how good or bad he was, I was just pissed off with the handling of it all and how long it took us to secure a keeper.

    You are unbelievable!!!

I saw your stats that you posted on our board about saves made and then looked at the table to see how many goals had been conceded!!

You told us that Lonergan had made more saves (by 1) yet he had conceded more goals (by 6). Therefore he has a worse save:goal conceded ratio to Kasper.

Please, for the love of God, stop talking out of your arsehole and making new figures up with every comment you make.

You are talking ****, you know you are and you are making yourself look like more of a prick than you actually are! <laugh>

I'm not saying Lonergan is a bad keeper, but its foolish to say he's had a better start to his Leeds career than Kasper has with his one at Leicester.

Every stat backs my opinion up and that is that Kasper is a better keeper than Andy and I won't back down till this 'you'll never beat Kisnorbo' twat sees the light and stops hating a great keeper who left his tin pot club for a better one.
