I was very disappointed that he didn't stay with QPR. Others were convinced that Wright-Phillips was a much better signing. I am not so sure. Was impressive in his first couple of games but has looked fairly ordinary since.
I agree. Think he's looked steadily less impressive each time he's played, almost like he doesn't believe in his own ability to score. On the other hand, Routlledge has never scored in the premiership and SWP won us THAT penalty.
Deadly serious. I thought he was only alright on Sunday, a 6 out of 10. I actually don't think he is any better than Routledge.
Yes! Had a few since, many bought for me by Spurs fans as I live in Spurs country. What happened to their match thread?
Problem for us is Dyer and Sinclair are always going to be our no1 wingers, so that leaves Routledge as an attacking midfielder at the head of a midfield three. For a player with no goals in over 100 PL appearances, I don't think it's an ideal position to be in. It was a weird signing, I think we're signing players we know will fit our system if they are available at a good price, and then they'll be fitted into the team as we see fit. Will it work? Who knows!
SWP is clearly better than Routledge. Dyer looks a hell of a prospect though and with a bit more experience at this level could well be getting a move to a bigger side or even an England call-up. His improvement in the last year or so particularly in his work-rate has been excellent.
I work with a Swan who has been to most of their games this season, and he says he has been total pony
Not too keen on Routladge...Don't think he has been in his best position for us...Whenever I have seen him play on the wing for other teams he looks dangerous...But so far, in the attacking midfield role- he has looked fairly average
How may games has SWP played for us???? Can we let him at least get to double figures before give marks. My opinion: Good player, quick, scares the hell out of defenders when he runs at them and is always likely to get a goal or two. Not afraid to have a shot at goal. All we need is another striker to get on the end of his crosses
