The theme of terrible strikers has been in my mind recently.
We do seem to have a remarkable history of bringing in players who just aren't up to the level we are at:

    Itay Shechter

    Alvaro Vauzquez,

Danny Graham - took him ages to score his first goal, and missed some real sitters! I would take Danny Graham over those two though right now though.

Luke Moore - never set the place alight, but I did like him. He won us some valuable points. (City, and Newcastle)

Who are the other duds to put on the Swansea shirt? The fellas who constantly fire blanks, if you like.

Pawel Abbott scored 1 goal in 18 games...cost £150,000 (Jackett signing).

Left 6 months later for £100k.

Another Jackett signing, Darryl Duffy....scored 1 goal in 20 games, cost £200,000.

Scored 5 goals in 8 games for us on loan from Hull, which is why we shelled out.

Bristol Rovers bought him off us a year later for £100,000

As I said on PS I'd sign Lukey Moore back on a 6 monther as he can play in the hole, his assist at the Emirates won us the game last season and we need numbers with plenty of games coming up* ... *Unless we have others in mind.

I didn't think much of him tbh but compared to Alvaro, Itay etc he is Messi, also I would take Leroy Lita back in the squad if he wasn't a c*nt.

Luke Moore failed at every club more or less including us his match to goal record was poor to say the least, his work rate left a lot to be desired. He was dumped by every club he played for, even his most recent club in a Turkey. Why on earth would you want to bring him back.

Yea Lita, what a waste of money.

We are talking about 100k here and there, and how at the timethey were big losses for us. We shelled out 2 million on Lita!

Gorka was very talented, and I would have him now if he was younger! Scored some brilliant goals for us.

Abbot was a joke. I remember his first touch, tried to do a bit of skill, and messed up. I said to my mate, I think the writing is on the wall with this guy.

Duffy was interesting. He did so well on loan, but it never worked out for him when we signed him. It took soo long to get him to sign as well.

Not a striker, but an attacking player. Ian Crainey. He was the best..

Warren Feeney - The cardiff fella did all right for us.

Feeney (Martinez got him in on loan after taking over from Jackett....I think?) scored 5 league goals in 10 appearances.

His Grandfather played for us in the 40s. They were the first grandfather/grandson to represent the same club (in the uk at least)....he couldn't agree terms with Martinez and his career nosedived afterwards.

I'll never know how Moore contorted his body to nod in that winner against Man City , one of my favorite goals. Never really got much of a chance with us imo

Ian Craney I had totally forgot about <laugh>
It gets no worse I'm afraid.

    Jackett signing.
Came to us on loan, played 8 times.
We shelled out £150k on the guy, he played for us 20 more times then left for Accrington Stanley on loan. By the start of the following season he was gone on a free wasn't it?

He made 55 league appearances for us and scored 8 goals.
I liked him too by the way...but IMO he had his chance/s and didn't take them.

Seeing as there are so many Jacks reading this can I use this thread to ask that those who go tonight are loud and aggressive...and if things aren't going well get on the opposition's and referee's back rather than our own boys.
When we have the ball let's roar them forward.
    Thank-you Rhysj1.

There are strikers that were good business but could still be seen as mistakes....Leon Knight for example and, for different reasons, Rory Fallon.

How many minutes has Vazquez had?
Bony started off with substitute appearances...ignore the transfer fee.....he forced his way into the team.

Moore has had a bigger chance than Vazquez or Schecter, was it 2&1/2 or 3 seasons. He simply didn't take it.
