    Hi,

I am not a Man U fan therefore I only catch bits of your games, however this season when Michael Carrick has not been playing the side looks lost. United have only lost twice in the league when he has started - once when he was at centre back against Man City and their 1-0 defeat to Saints. Whereas for the 15 games he has not started Man U have won five, drawn five and lost five. (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michael-carrick/leistungsdaten/spieler/3878)

Is this an oversimplification or are you still missing that extra central midfielder with both defensive assurance and the ability to keep your side ticking over?

I think Carrick is a vital component to our midfield who was sadly missing today. Although Blind has performed well over the course of the season we certainly need to find a replacement for Carrick in the next window IMO. that said we also need to urgently address the right back position too
