How has anyone not thought of it before?

    I was walking through my village and saw a couple on a tandem bike.

    How has anyone not thought of it for the olympics before?

    I can just see it, Wiggins and Cavendish in a tandem bike road race. It would be brilliant!

    They have already thought of it. They have it in the Paralympics.
    Wiggins and Froome tried it but a dog ran out and threw a bucket of water over them!

    Well, you've got the vision impaired tandems in the paralympics so it's a possibility. Would be dangerous as hell I reckon, they go fast enough in the velodrome with one bloke.

    or they chain comes off 3 times with the tandem and you get disqualified, resulting in a massive (justified) rant to the judges?
