got 50%, but i forgot which one to click at first. Its not really offsides that wind me up, but blatant free kicks and not being able to tell who's bloody throw it is!
I got 70%, was just off on a couple of them. It is pretty tough and to be fair those are very straight forward examples. Sometimes a lot harder than that.
I gave up after the first one... the page wouldn't translate, so I didn't know what I was clicking on.
I've run the line at a few veterans games and I hated it, though that was probably because it was for my team and I was trying to watch the game, rather than where people were running.
I got 70%, agreed these were quite straight forward and they were only training exercises. The speed of a proper game with more players would be a lot harder, but saying that they've had the training and have had to build up through the divisions to get close to a Premier League game so they'll have done 100's of games compared to us just doing a quick test and if someone like me can get 70% at the first attempt on a simple test then they shouldn't really get a lot wrong, but we all know how bad they are.
Where linesmen go wrong for me isn't in the actual decision making, it's in the failing to be in line to make the decision. The amount of times a linesman has to make a marginal decision about an offside despite being 5-10 yards off the line of the last defender is ridiculous. I think fans would be much more accepting of mistakes if the linesmen were in line and just cocked up the timing between the ball being played and the attacker crossing the line. As it is, half the time the offside decisions look like they just can't be arsed trying to catch back up with play so they're hoping it's right.
After taking that test I am now putting the lineswoman job on hold. I may have to visit a well known high street shop and re-take the Snellen. Very poor.
The linesman's role and his duties have failed to adapt with the game. For instance, why must they stay parallel to the ball at a goal-kick and then have to run 50 yds to the centre line ? It's nonsense.
What drives me mad about linesmen/lineswomen is that when the ball goes out for a throw the first thing they do is look straight at the referee to see which way he / she gives the throw then follows suit with the the flag raised in the same direction to the referee is signalling. They are there to assist the referee are they not and not the other way round
I miss read the title of the thread and thought Dutch was having difficulty buying lino. I was going to say it's very easy to buy, Leightons on Hessle Road probably sell it, glad I didn't. I can 't open the test on my **** phone.
80%, but like AKCJ, I couldn't get the right ****ing frame! Don't see how that matters if you got the call right anyway.
The first word is very offensive Won't work on my supposed 'smart phone' why don't phones have flash and the likes
