much praise is being put on our defence at the moment. I was wondering how much better the defense is as players and as a unit, imo mouyokolo was a better cb than gerrard and chester but i much prefer the defence at the moment, rosenoir has certainly helped, hes the best right back we've had since ricketts. pearsons turned them around exceptionally from the start of the season, they were woeful.

I thought Chester read the game very well today, tended to be in the right place most of the time and Gerrard seems very dependable, wins majority of his headers. Rosenior thankfully is good defensively and offensively, gives us the width are lacking with no recognised wingers and Dawson had a good day todaykeeping their wingers quiet.

Chester looks like a great signing to me, Pearson has done outstandingly well with the defence this season, no more Gardner, Zayette and Mcshane (you can see the difference). I like Harper too as a defensive-midfielder, for me he's doing a great job, hoping he can win a few more fans around now that Ashbees going.

Chester seems to be one of those players who doesn't have to run about much. He just is there to make the tackle and get on with it. Against Reading he seemed to have plenty of time to make the tackle, raely rushed and very impressive for such a young guy.
