F.A.CUP Quarter final weekend and we are involved and I for one am quite excited about it. Getting the old cup fever. Good times! Makes it even better that our league position is looking quite solid.
I would be more excited if it wasn't at Goodison. Our record there is pretty terrible and I for one can't remember the last time we won at the wretched place.
Snap. However if were taking this seriously, i want to beat the best (or better, tougher) teams in the competition to win the cup. Not get easy games all the way to the final. We did it in 73 and blew everyone out the water.
It's a great feeling to be still in the mix at this stage of the FA cup. No matter what anybody says, once you reach the final stages of a cup competition the magic of following a football club really begins to drill itself home. You just know that those boys will be fighting tooth and nail along with playing good football for the whole 90 minutes at Goodison. I can sense that our boys are out to prove something, the feeling is almost tangible.
Aye. Law of averages and all that. Mind you, I used to think the same about the away game at Middlesborough. Always seemed to struggle at Ayrsome Park and then we won at their new place in a relegation six-pointer. I thought we must surely survive after that, but in the end we both went down!
Everton in fine form, we are in fine form ,despite being possibly 5 first team players out. Brown, Richardson, Cattermole, Sess' and Bendtner.
The only thing about these poor runs is that one day they have to come to and end. So maybe that will be on Saturday and then a win there in a months time just to bury the jinx even deeper.
I just have this feeling that this year its ours and the toffees will get theirs, right up the jacksy from us
