    ...Spurs finished 4th but Chelsea finished 5th and won the Champions League this season?

    Spurs would only be eligable for a Europa League place due to the UEFA rule that was passed in 2005 after Liverpool won the Champions League and finished 5th. The rule states:

    Oh man I'd laugh my back off if this happened...

    I know, just saying it's a possibility, and in a one-off tie they could beat most.
    If the draw is kind to them, they could go far.

    They could, but when they come up against Barca (I think they'll win it) they'll fail, but it would be hilarious!

    yeah, I mean they will need to avoid barca but they could beat schalke/valencia, other english teams maybe, possibly shakhtar

    Barca are by no means through, I know they only need a 1-0 win at the Nou Camp but Arsenal I think can hold out for a 1-1 draw and knock them out this year!

    Would hate for the Spuds to win the CL, that wouldn't be funny at all, even as much as I'd love to see Chelsea playing against KRC Genk or Shakhter Karaganda!

    I'd love a 4 way English semi finals, but I bet the quarter finals conveniently get organised so they're all playing each other
