I make a 300 mile round trip to home games and I know a lot of others who do the same, or more, but I wonder who travels the furthest on a regular basis?

SmuginAntibes is probably a contender as he travels from the south of France and has been to a lot of games this season. I know he'll be there on Tuesday - but can anybody beat him for distance travelled ON A REGULAR BASIS?

On the other hand it would be interesting to know who has the shortest journey to the ground too.

Oh - and welcome to the new boys - well done Brucie.

Whickham for me, it takes about 40 minutes to get parked up and another 10 to the ground. Was a student in S Yorks, used to hitch home for the matches, once spent 5hrs getting back and the gates were closed at Roker as the ground was full! Another time I hitched to Fulham, got a low loader all the way to Watford then the train in. Happy days!

    .

I flew back from Toronto for the last derby game :emoticon-0100-smile; 3500 miles... but not on a regular basis :emoticon-0120-doh:

Anyway kudos indeed to those who commute the length of the country (or across the channel!) on a regular basis <applause>

Regular - no, can't claim that one. 3-4 times a year, although managed a few more back in '07 when I could get direct flights to Newcastle airport.
At the minute it's flying via London and on the train which ends up being a 400-500quid trip for a long weekend.
I hope they open up more flights for the E-word next season....

From the house to Sunderland then back home is just over 600 mile.

A stop over is usually a must.

    £120 Petrol
    £40 Hotel
    £30/40 on food & drink
    + cost of tickets.

Expensive doo this supporting Sunderland lark!

I travel from Alicante and I've attended 14 games this season Hoever I haven't travelled to each individually though.Sometimes I stay over. I've actually only done 9 fights.

    (Thank god for Easyjet)

longest I've done for a single game (derby match) was from 200 miles inland from the east coat of Russia. Have two mates who beat me by a mile though. they travelled from Sakhalin and back over an extended weekend to watch a match.

Takes me 10 minutes from leaving my front door to get to the SoL. Usually takes a tad longer on a matchday mind as I tend to head via town or the Navy Club first. As for away games, Ill go anywhere I can do! Made the trip to Portsmouth twice last season in two weeks.

Works out well for me as well especially for games like tomorrow night. Get of the metro from work, dump the bag at home, quick change and in the club for 6.30 hopefully.

A round trip for me is about 1000 miles, depends where I stop off for overnight, food etc.. I live a few miles from Lands End. Managed 9 home games and 3 away last year, will probably be 8 and 4 this year. Wish I could do more but it's a whole weekend each time, so it's time and money (Fuel Cost etc) that holds me back. Still makes me tingle every time I'm in the crowd though!

Hopefully once a year, but it's SO expensive getting off this lump of granite! A ferry (4 hours at least) or a plane cost a fortune, so untill I have a private jet, I doubt I'll be able to make games regularly.
