Alexander the Great was indeed an advocate of man-love. Although it didn't stop him conquering the known world, I think he might've been a tad gay.
He was extremely gay, as was Lawrence of Arabia. The Spartan warrior caste - contrary to what is said in 300 - were all gay, even when they married they usually returned to their barracks at night to be with their boyfriend. Socrates, Aristotle and Plato were all tutors to young men and it was normal to pay for the tuition with sex. Also Xerxes had a Unit called the Sacred Band. The Sacred Band of Thebes (Ancient Greek: Ἱερὸς Λόχος, Hieròs Lókhos) was a troop of picked soldiers, consisting of 150 pairs of male lovers which formed the elite force of the Theban army in the 4th century BC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_Band_of_Thebes
The burglary of turds didn't have the same stigma in Ancient Greece that it's had in more recent years. Any hole was a goal in those days I think.
One is only gay, if one wears cufflinks. you may have as much bumfun as you like, but only cufflinks make you gay. (Source). Gay rule book.
