As just suggested by StanleyParkerBowles on the Reading match day thread, a new thread. How far do we all travel on a standard home match day? I will start off. I travel from a village between Oxford and Aylesbury. It seems to be a 100 mile round trip ( by train). Who else? Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
I travel from near Lyme Regis about 160 miles from the Bush. The couple in front of me our the Finns that featured in the Ipswich programme
Easy journey from Bishops Stortford for me Though a bit of a trek compared to my 5 minute walk from Stanlake Road W12 previously!
I was born in Hammersmith Hospital and spent my first 14 years living in Batman Close, a 2 minute walk
I travel from West Wickham when trains are running & then get two underground trains or via east Croydon to Clapham & overhead to Shepherd’s Bush, about hour & 20 mins.
12 miles - Overground Line Norwood Junction to Whitechapel then Hammersmith & City Line to Shepherd's Bush Market. Often engineering works at weekends down my end so then it's a 468 from Whitehorse Lane to Camberwell and a 148 to the Bush...
Walk, bus, walk, train, walk, pub, walk, game, walk, pub, walk, train, walk, bus, walk, large red wine. (the more I typed the word 'walk', the stranger it looked)
Purely in Surrey. There is a few of us funnily enough from that area - Purley, Sanderstead, Riddlesdown Coulsdon etc
Around 100 miles round trip driving from South Oxfordshire. I can never bring myself to trust the trains!!
If flying over it's a 22 hour day trip, leaving home around 3am to get flight from Dublin and getting back home around 1am the following morning........ If driving over it's a weekender and about a 800 mile round trip......
If I am not working at the weekend, I will drive to Surrey from Dorset (roughly 100 miles) and get the train.
Some of the distances travelled here are amazing, I take my hat off to you all... I'm waiting for Kiwi...
185 mile round trip. I get the train if I expect to have more than 2 pints, it’s a decent service to Marylebone.
Near Midhurst, West Sussex. 100 mile round trip by car. Bit of a temptation to use the red button on weekday evening matches now, rather than getting back at midnight.
Wow aren't we a dedicated group. A new question ( adjunct to this). Does anyone live near the ground? Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Used to when growing up, you could see the floodlights from the back of our house......it was roughly a 5 minute walk to the ground.
