    Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham

    Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle

    Newcastle 2-1 Aston Villa

    Everton 1-1 Newcastle

Newcastle 2-1 Norwich (Welcome back Hughton)

    Reading 1-2 Newcastle

I reckon our Europa League tie will **** us over for Chelsea, since they've refused to bring it foward.

I'd like to win 4 and draw 1 out the first 6, to make 13 pts.

But I'd be happy with 10/11 I think. 3 wins and 1/2 draws would be ok, plus getting through, and that's my prediction. I would hope for maybe an extra win.

No clean sheets in the forst 6 games after a record breaking clean sheet season last year?

Those scores you've posted all look realistic to me Tash! <ok>

I don't think there will be an easy games this season, so if we did get those results you've predicted, then I'd be very happy.

I'm sure some others will be wanting/expecting us to score more goals and win more games, but equally we could get off to a bad start and struggle. A new season often throws up a change in form from the previous season so we can't 'assume' we'll carry on from last season - especially if the liks of Tiote, Cabaye & HBA are injured.

    Newcastle 1-2 Tottenham
    Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle
    Newcastle 3-1 Aston Villa
    Everton 1-2 Newcastle
    Newcastle 1-0 Norwich
    Reading 0-3 Newcastle

The Spuds game is the game im really not sure about. Will Modric play? Do they have a striker? Apart from them and Chelski I think all the others are winnable. Everton slow starters, Villa are average, Norwich will be a tough game and I think we will have to much for Reading

Strangely negative predictions, have you gone backwards from last season?
    I'd go for
    Newcastle 3-1 spurs
    Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle
Newcastle 3-0 villa(remember their disgusting fans when you went down, hope you batter them)
    Everton 1-1 Newcastle
    Newcastle 4-1 Norwich
    Reading 0-2 Newcastle
    13 points

Thanks Paulpowersleftfoot. I'm liking your optomism for our boys and would love to see those results come in for real. Just not convinced it'll happen - but that's my way of starting each season to avoid disappointment. <ok>

The only result I disagree with is the spuds, I can see us getting beat. I'm obviously only basing this on the game that tore us apart last season and with a new manager and missing players they're a different beast but I still not feeling good.

Hope I'm wrong of course :)

And I thought I was the pessimist here! <laugh>

No, you do have a good point - this one can definitely go either way. But that's what makes football so magical. <magic>

If we get 8 or more points I will be satisified. The two opening fixtures are two of the hardest of the season, and no one else is going to roll over for us. So long as we get off to a not awful start, I will expect us to make up any lost ground over the course of the season. I'll settle for the wheels not falling off straight out of the gate

Looks about right to me Tash and I'd happily take that now. Going on averages, 13 points in 6 games gives 80(ish) over the course of the season, that's enough to comfortably achieve Champions League!

After last season, we would be fools to expect anything. I'm not expecting, just excited that we actually do have a team capable of beating any team in the league.

They tore us apart at WHL, because we were awful. At SJP it was an even game, and we could have even won it.
