I think we've had enough games to make a reasonable prediction. Teams could gain form but there's only so long you can go before wanting to predict. For me - I think Liverpool are going to have a poorer season. I think Salah's prime has past. He was way off form 2nd half of last season, and although his quality is partly still there, he has been off the pace since january 2022. I think he'll not be the same player this season. Liverpool will have enough to get a CL place, but that's about it. I know there's so much time left but I see way too many issues with this Liverpool squad to expect them to be comfortably stronger than Arsenal and Spurs, who both look more lethal than last season. I think we'll be ok, and I think over the course of the season we'll do enough to finish comfortably in the top 10, probably 8th. I think West Ham's squad depth is better than ours so they'll finish 7. We'll be pushing for 7th, and it's definitely achieveable if West Ham struggle to get their act together and also have Europe Conference to worry about. Our owners will want European football asap, so I expect potentially another big signing in January, and at least another 100m spent, which may be enough. However, I think we'll fall short and West Ham's squad depth will help them achieve 8th. I think Chelsea will struggle a bit this season and will take a bit of time under potter to get going. I think Everton's time has come. They don't look like they can score enough goals, and will rely on trying to keep scores down and keep clean sheets in order to survive. I think over the course of the season they'll struggle to pick up enough wins to survive. Leicester I think will survive because of their attacking presence. If Rodgers fails to get something from Forest at home, I think he'll be sacked and someone will come in who will be able to do enough with the talent they have to win enough games. ------------------------------------------------------- 1. City 2. Arsenal 3. Spurs 4. Liverpool -------------- 5. Manchester United 6. Chelsea ---------------------- 7. West Ham ------------------------ 8. Newcastle 9. Crystal Palace 10. Urgh why the predictions everywhere? Liverpool are obviously gonna get there **** together soon, Arsenal will trail away a bit, Leicester will have a new manager soon and who knows how that will affect things, and Everton and West Ham will likely change managers soon as well. All we know right now: 1. City are practically unstoppable and it would be huge surprise if they don't win the league 2. Liverpool are obviously gonna improve from 8th place 3. Spurs and Arsenal have got the early momentum, and Spurs are more likely to keep it up and get top 3 4. Forest are a mess with the clusterfuck of new players and I would be astonished if they don't go down. 5. Leicester, West Ham and Everton have the ability to turn things around but may not. 6. Brighton, Fulham and Brentford likely to end to lower than where they are now.
Forest is the weirdest, I’m surprised a man of coopers experience went there. 21 players? Meeting each other for the first time in game week 3?! Top 6 will be the “big” 6. No doubt. 7th is up for grabs and should be the aim given Leicester, Wolves, Villa and West Ham’s poor start, it’s a glorious opportunity to get 7th and at the moment Howe is ****ing it up. Plenty of time, but it’ll be a massive shame if we can’t get 7th as it’d really put the fear of god into those above. And I could not give a **** about the ghost of Ashley past, £200m+ should be enough to challenge for 7th - West Ham did it, Brighton are doing it.
Cooper's experience? He's 42 and his only real experience is 2 years at Swansea and last year at Forest, being in the Prem has clearly gone to his head and he's lost it... Although the final blame surely lies with whoever permitted 21 new players to be signed. And as for £200m spend, is basically standard now, remember Forest themselves spent £150m in the summer.
