I think a little more consistancy would see us a top side in this division. That can only be gained through playing games so this will hopefully improved. Not happy with some of the football on display, but again im hoping that will improve with time <ok>

A little anxious..........there are signs of us fulfilling our pre/early season promise but we need more consistency.
I'm also worried about Buckle's man management skills. He's already described within the club as 'high maintenance'.
He has to succeed as Higgs has allowed him more funds than the kitty agreed by the directors. If it all goes pear-
shaped there will be financial implications.
On balance still optimistic.....just.

i didnt expect us to be running away with the league straight away due to the new team - 16 players and manager and new tactics etc. things wont be prefect for a long time as everyone and everything needs to gel. more games go by things will improve. so far it hasnt been great yet we are mid table and only 2 points from top 7 and 5 points from top! once we really get our game on, we will kill a lot of side by 4 goals plus and will start to pull away from a lot of teams. rome wasnt built in a day. now we have had 10 games in the league, i expect us to be performing better and getting the results which show we are promotion favourites.
only issue is, as we are a big club in this league, other clubs will see us as being their cup final and perform to a higher standard against us than they normally do. we need to make sure we are ruthless in front of goal and much early on in games. like having a 2-0 lead by 10 mins for example.
only thing im worried about is even though we score goals, we concede a lot too. this needs to stop asap.

So far mixed emotions. Pre season and 1st game against AFC I was delighted and really thought we`d be a force. The home defeat to Torquay was sods law with the manager situation. It would be fair to expect some inconsistency with a completely new team but we have stuttered big time and most worryingly our performances seem to have become more disjointed as the season has gone on when you`d expect the team to gell and look more solid. Despite this following the welcome, if suprising, result at Morecambe we have proved we can do a job on anyone in this league and if/when the team settle properly and find consistancy I don`t think it`s being over optimistic hoping for at least a playoff place or being in a position to nick an auto place come the business end of the season.

Overall I`m slightly disapointed up to now but remain optimistic for the remainder of the season. <ok>

It's a funny old game ... ain't that right! Away to Crawley - a bag of cr*p ... followed by a good game away to Bradford (only the ref to blame for dropping 3 points!). A hard fought win against the Shrews, who showed us what a settled team can play like, followed by a non-descript performance against Aldershot (although it was only through an unfortunate mistake that they scored). So a real mixed bag - on their day - we can beat any body ... on an off day we can draw/lose to anybody (Hereford!) So, so far very inconsistant - some good points, some that are not so pleasing. Not quite sure why PB changes everybody around so much - I know we have had injuries, but wingers in the middle, forwards in midfield etc etc doesn't bring a settled team. I think Cian Bolger has been one of, if not our best player so far - remember he is only on loan and was a last minute addition - if we didn't have him then who knows where we would be? I also think we havent seen the best of a lot of our players - especially the wingers - but there again if he aint playing them out wide ...... I am happy with the full backs and the cover we have and my only concern is the centre of defence - BA we all know makes the odd goof but gives his all, and AV has yet to impress me. If we can get CB either permanent or on loan till the end of the season then I'm sure we will be there or thereabouts, however the time has come to get some consistancy and confidence going, play football like we all know they can, get behind the team and look forward to Bristol derbies again next season! :emoticon-0105-wink:

No if im totally honest Mclidst, I expected us to be average for the first 10 games as we have a new squad. However, I didnt expect us to be playing long ball and our centre back being a complete kamakazi defender, but **** happens. Lets hope it resolves itself, or we get a new defender in to steady to goals against stat, we will then be very much a real force in this league.

only excuses is the crap officials we been getting and i trust us when we say it has been very poor in league 2. i thought league 1 was bad but wow its super bad down in league 2!

however the aldershot game and crawley was just crap performances!

with us saying we would walk the league, a lot of that was tongue in cheek. teams see us as their cup final as we are a big club for this league. however there was lots of optimism as the bookies had us 2nd favourites too and they dont get it wrong often! however the majority of gasheads know there would be a period at the start to allow time for tactics and players to gel etc. now were 10 games in, we should now be seeing what were made of.

I think both WUM's are ****e to be honest, but whatever floats your boat :D

We won’t be mid table by x-mas. We be top of the league and running away with it. You lot on the other hand will be firmly stuck to the bottom of the table and shouting for your new manager to be executed because he couldn’t get a draw against Doncaster <ok>

chuckle vision is more like whats going on your end with the chuckle brothers millen and maynard :)

not many managers can come and and win promotion 1st season. not many clubs go up after being relegated. i expect a play off spot at least with the squad we have. if we fall short, it depends how short will be my answer. a lot of clubs have the same squad or a couple of changes so they are more use to each other. we have a brand new squad and manager. we needed 10 games. other teams dont. so we are behind in that way but we are not behind that much according to the table. it could be worse.

but not for long ;)

I suppose you can expect a small side like 1982ers to survive such a league though :)

i am marginally disapointed with the gas performance so far, the walk the league has been slowed by a pebble in the shoe. i think the gas must lift their game or risk being an also ran club this season

Never was that good at making rhymes tbh

Hello AJ welcome back
Nice you came to have the crack
You concern for Rovers knows no bounds
Although you support those Shrewsbury clowns
The result against Cheltenham we`ll soon see
But one thing is a certainty
We`ll finish higher in the league than you
Alas your club are a load of poo <ok>

beware of the bard, to finish anywhere near the shrews the gas will need to put some wins together. having viewed your fixtures, i suspect by the time the gas get going, the ides of march may be upon them, irene is in for a long goodnight!

if the gas had beaten crawley, hereford, wombles, torquay etc they would now be walking the league they are not yet in dire staits, but they are giving a great impression of doing the walk on by
