Seems to me we are all a bit arguementative at the moment because of the lack of action, so instead of tearing our friendship apart , how about some positive thoughts on next season ?? Team line ups ?? New players?? See the BBC is claiming RA and Emanelo ( or whoever he is) have put the introduction of youth players into the squad at the top of their agenda. Thoughts as to who ?? Manager ?? Good call, bad call, who else ?? Opposition?? Go for everything or just a couple?? Who will be our stars?? Over and out.
I haven't seen,can't find,the BBC story on youth intro but I would think Piazon would be top of the list.Would have hoped we kept Courtois this season too but looks like another season on loan for him which is fair enough for a gk I say.Hope they put a recall clause in though. Hope Sturridge stays and is understudy to Torres as the central striker.We should at least see if he can play there!!!!! Bit sorry to hear Ivan saying again that he wants to be cb and not a rb. I think JT,Luiz and Cahill are all ahead of him there now so it may be he does move on and we are looking at rbs. If the season started today my line up: Cech Ivan Luiz Cahill Ash Mikel Romeu Ramires Hazard Mata Torres If we sign a right sided midfield/attacker then Ramires would drop back and take Mikels spot. JT? I have a feeling he will be found guilty,just a feeling,and think the club will sack him if he is,not sure they could do otherwise really. And it will be us and City for the title but we will retain the CL.
Interesting bit about JT! Its easy to forget the implications if he is found guilty! As far as next seasons concerned I think as CL champs they will all be saving their best for us. If we do get Hulk I think we will be powerful and certainly be giving the Mancs serious competition for the PL! Big questions are--Who will the captain(not Petr Cech!)be and will we consign competition for the FA and plastic cup to the reserves!
Pretty much agree with most of this. Sturridge has to be kept, I think he's got bags of potential and he just needs to tweek certain areas of his game, luckily I think his weaknesses are easy to work on i.e. passing!! He seems like a bit of an arrogant plonker but he gets quite a lot of unnecessary stick from some of us and people need to remember he was probably one of our best players under AVB. With regard to further signings I say we buy someone who can play on the right, Ramires looked class there last season under Robbie's style but I still think he's a better asset in the middle next to Lampard or Mikel. Ben Arfa fits the bill imo, I'd rather we bought him than Hulk simply for financial reasons and the fact I don't see much difference in quality. If we can get Hulk for £25m than perfect, if not we should be showing Porto the finger. I hadn't heard that about Ivan CPofL, bit disappointing really as he's surely not going to get a look in ahead of Cahill, Luiz or JT but I think the papers are making up crap again to be honest as he was linked to Madrid earlier and they'll do anything to rock the boat these days. I think our squad is brilliant, Hazard will add the needed flair and width we've wanted for years and so will Marin. Mata will again be our magician in the middle in front of a central midfield consisting of either Lamps, Ramires, Mikel or Romeu and we all know our defence. Hopefully we concentrate on the youth next year, I can't bear watching Malouda come off the bench to do absolutely **** all again! If JT was to be found guilty I would hope he is sacked. Apart from the fact he'd be a proven racist, it would affect the club tremendously if we didn't do something about it. I'd hope Lampard would be the new skipper, still believe he's got it in him to continue at this level consistantly and he adapted to a deeper role towards the end of last season very well.
The COC should be consigned to the reserves but the FA Cup should be a mix. It only gets in the way at the semi stage,before that there are no fixtures changed as it is on its own weekend so we can still go for that. Regarding the potential captains. Lamps is the obvious candidate but I would not see him in my team selection so I would have to go with Luiz.
I am feeling very positive about next season I must admit. Some players have gone, who actually needed to...I like that fact that Drogba went on a high note, absolutely the right thing to do and paves the way for Torres. We have bought in a couple of pretty class looking attack minded midfielders, which should suit Nandos play, and he also is carrying on his good form in the Euros. We have Terry and Lampard left, as I hope/ believe that Malouda will now **** off, out of the "inner circle" of players...Cech obviously is a big player for us, but I don't have him pegged as a trouble maker to be honest. Assuming convictions aren't an issue, my first team line up would be: ----------Cech----------- Ivan - Terry - Cahill - Cole ------Mikel - Ramires----- Sturridge - Hazard - Mata- ---------Torres---------- Possibly drop Terry for Luiz to be honest...I am a bit torn as to whether I want the guy to be the lynchpin of the team any more...never thought I'd ever be saying that
Does the JT trial have consequences for us, i.e does the charge carry a possible prison sentence/ if guilty will the club take measures of their own against him?
Lucas Piazon, Chalobah, Hutchinson, McEachran are the ones who'll get promoted. Abramovich made the right decision acquirng RDM. He is a good appointment. Think we will acquire only 2 more acquisitions who will be Hulk and Van Der Wiel. Lets go for the premiership, champions league and Fa Cup. I feel extremely positive about the new campaign. Hazard is a great signing and getting RDM permanently is great. Hopefully we can add a few more signings and then challenge for the title and obviously be the first team to retain the Champions League!
