Afternoon all, it seems to still be a bit gloomy on the board after yesterday's defeat and we're talking about the need for new players for about that 8,979th time, so I thought I'd switch it up a little and just see how you all came to this place and why you're all still chatting away on it. Usually, I (and I know others have said previously) register with a forum and after a week or two get bored and sod off, so just want to see what's kept you all here and to those new posters, why have you joined and how you finding it? I came across the place by simply wondering what happened to the old 606, I never actually posted on it but was a long time lerker, so I searched up on google for Spurs 606 and this place came first or second in the results, so had a browse, registered straight away as I liked the layout and there was also a topic at the time I was interested in (can't remember exactly but think it was a transfer story - surprise, surprise ) and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the interaction with other posters, it has a great mix of banter, views/ opinions, stats and just good general chat and so while I have free time at work (which has been a hell of a lot lately!) I stay on here and chat away.
I typed in Not606 and found it on google, lucky! ...No I stay as its not overly busy, busy forums mean too many opinions, debates get lost and you get people that feel the need to destroy debates by posting every second! (like JA606 (which I won't use)..)..... on here there doesn't need to be tons of new threads as some of the debates move from thread to thread.
Yeah good point that, it's not clustered and you know that when you wake up in the morning, you won't need to go back 2 or 3 pages to find the thread you last posted on.
SOS, the flip side of that, is that if you make a twat of yourself......the comment will still be there on the 1st page in the morning thats when you wish it was busy!
I registered to 3 or 4 after BBC closed and this was the only one I liked (New606 was too quiet, JA606 was infantile).
Haven't even heard of New606. JA just looks like a board for under 16s and there was one other I came across, think it was v2606 or something, which didn't seem too appealing.
I waited til old606 died and then looked at a few of the places that I'd heard people were migrating to. The moderation on Ja sounded terrible, so I tried this place out. I prefer the mods on here, for some reason...
I'm only here to meet hot chicks! In truth, new stories are posted here before the main media gets their grubby hands on them. User opinions are way better than the editorials I read. And I like the match threads.
I remember when you first signed up SOS. it was close to transfer deadline day in the summer and there were only a couple of really "active" threads on the go. one was the summer transfer window and the other was a thread about hot girls. well, it started off as "who is the hottest SSN girl and "hot girls" is what it turned into! if my memory serves me correctly, you then started a thread called "spurs or sex". and i'm pretty sure we then had 2 threads on the go which were just photos of hot women! I was one of the mergers from 606. there were 2 options, JA606 or Not606. A very experienced forum chap named Spurf put his arm around my shoulder and convinced me that this was the correct decision for my development in the football community world. A year and a half into my contract, I'm happy with my decision as I've met some great fans who all have such different opinions, stories and views. The personalities within these users and the quality of conversation make not606 what it is and it's the reason i'm still here.
Great place to come Inda! Yeah very true, a lot of news gets broken on here a lot quicker than the tabloids/ major news outlets etc. LOL I remember that thread! Wasn't it you that PM'd me and gave me the initial idea to post a thread about "Spurs or Sex?"? Spurf put his arm round you and convinced you of where your future lied, is Spurf 'Arry?!?! Agree though mate, the variation of views and opinions on here always makes it interesting for a good debate.

I was tipped off about this forum in the dying days of the BBC606, as well as a couple of other places. I am registered on JA606 (under the tag White Hot Lane), but I rarely venture there, as the place makes the Mouser board look like a Rocket Science Convention. I stay because there are some good, balanced opinions (to counter my bad and unbalanced ones), plus the Mousers and Gooners on this forum are far more entertaining than their counterparts in the real world.
I originally went to Ja as that's where everyone seemed to be going but that crashed straight away so I registered here too and enjoyed it so stayed using both and by the time I got banned from Ja I hardly used it. If I was to us an analogy for the difference between the two forums I'd say we're smart-casual whilst they're fancy dress. Here you've got a sensible mix of formal and informal discussion and on the otherside it's very slanted towards the lighter conversation, it's all a bit wacky and can be a bit attention seekerish. I like how on here you can take your time writing a comment and, like I have done with this, you can do a bit of work midway through writing it without feeling like the discussion will be dead or have moved on by the time you post it.
