As per title................. After all the crap from them this last 12 months, how good was that score today?
ouch! I know quite a few Trotters refused to go because of the prices but it also looks like some empty seats in the QPR areas too, though perhaps they are restricted views. Either way, not a good sign for the 1st game
If it was our first game in the Prem, the CCS would have been packed to the rafters - and I bet Carrow Road will be next Sunday. Still, we've got that to come next season.
QPR have also made great steps forward in recent years, but their ascent to the top flight for the first time since 1996 has been somewhat tainted by issues off the pitch regarding the potential sale of the club, a lack of big-money signings and a significant increase in ticket prices, which has left many fans aggrieved. There were noticeable gaps in the stands at Loftus Road but a sense of optimism prevailed, which was initially prolonged by what was a positive, if somewhat naive, first-half display from their team. Interesting results all round. Wales beat England in the egg chasing, England stuff India in the cricket, Leeds, Forrest, Burnley and Leicester all lose. If we win tomorrow (not a foregone conclusion) it will be a phsychological boost this early in the season. DJs usual '10 games before you look at the table' still holds, but you can't take the points off once they are there (unless you are very naughty boys).
chris kamara made it sound like they were pathetically bad today in this day and age its very difficult for a team to stay up without chucking money at the playing squad. neil warnock clearly did well to get them up but they'll scrap and win games this season. dyer, gabbidon, campbell and bothroyd arent bad signings, but they arent all that good either...
You say a crowd of only 15,000 but I think the capacity is only 16,000. But why do we care? If City win by 3 goals tomorrow, 3- 0, we will be top, and like the man says, you can't take the points away once you got them. On paper our first 10 or 11 games aren't the hardest of the season and if we can pile up a few points it will tell at the other end. We haven't won our first two games for about ten years and Brizzle haven't lost their first two for about 8. MM has never won his KTF
Very pleasing result me thinks, wonder if there will be any riots in Ealing tonight??...................... please log in to view this image
Not sure what the actual capacity is Snaggs, but it must be more than that. I can definitely remember them getting a crowd of over 18,000 in there when they played Leeds in the Championship last season. For a first game in the Prem, you'd have thought they'd have got at least that. As you say though - whatever, that's their problem.
dont get people who claim not to care about other teams interests, i care.. i love cardiff city and i love football so i watch games we're not involved in, chat about the latest big money signings in the prem down the pub and talk about QPR, Swansea and Norwichs chances in the prem and who i think will win the prem - thats why i love the game - i cant think of anything worse than getting stuck talking to some ccfc anorak in the pub talking with his nasal tones on about the 30's or something zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz id rather have a quick chat with a "plastic" (hate that word by the way) supporter of a top 4 side about who he thinks will win the league based on nothing more than what he reads on the back of the sun as atleast i know this guy is going to be remotely human rather than some obsessive anorak
It was a good post PontprennauBluebird until "he reads on the back of the sun as atleast i know this guy is going to be remotely human" The sun & human don't go together
