    Intellectual in peace.

Can someone please point out to me why you consider it appropriate to question Wenger's judgement, considering how far he's taken Arsenal in his time there? When he joined you were bobbins, finishing 5th/6th in the league with no hope of getting anywhere near the dominant Man United and Newcastle of the day (before Keegan walked because he wasn't given a big enough warchest). Two years later you were champions.

Firstly, who do you think would come in to Arsenal if you fired Wenger? I can only think of a handful of better supremos in the world game, none of whom would be tempted to leave their current positions to go to 'The Emirates'. All of Arsenal's problems at present are outside of Wengers hands, namely:

    a) The Emirates is an appaling ground for atmosphere. This isn't 'subjective', it's the reason given by Fabregas and Nasri for walking. I'm sure Wenger was only too happy to be in charge of a side that were developing a huge new stadium, with all the financial guarantees and revenue it now provides, but it's not his fault it was so poorly designed and now robs the team of the fortress effect that so helps other teams in the league.

    b) Money coming on from outside the game. It's hardly King Wenger's fault that Chelsea and Man City turned up with substantial warchests. At the european level you could add Barcelona and Real, both lauded as almost religiously-perfect clubs by pundits but actually in hundreds of millions of debt unlike Wenger.

    c) Other clubs now want bigger sums for players than they normally would because they know Wenger has a gargantuan warchest. Hardly Wenger's fault.

If you really want to sack Wenger then fine, sack him and you'll no doubt replace him with some sub-Mourinho 'European rising star' who will play 'the Arsenal way' (which Wenger completely changed himself, not a long term historic fact for the club) and go doon pan, probably doing a Newcastle United in the process.
