Just finished defrosting the car -9 here in Northampton

Happily watching those that didn't bother going out yesterday trying to get 2 inches of frozen snow off their windscreens.

Be fair, the teachers need more time off for all the "hard work" that they do <doh>

TBH having been there etc its not as easy as people think and its getting harder from what i see.
A typical day begins at 7/7.30 and by th etime all your prep etc is done it can be 10/11 at night

The whole holidays thing is a myth too, never had the whole 5/6 weeks off, teacher training etc

However its pure laziness not getting in on friday as there was no snow, just icy on estates etc where gritters dont get to. but achievable

Its the same with everyone I think I am doing a place up at the moment, and needed a 'man and a van' and couldnt believe how many turned the job down due to 'snow'. The guy I got in the end made a killing on the day

It's not that cold here in Edinburgh, the temperature has not hit -c for about 5 days, at the moment it is 6.9c outside and a cosy 25c in the house.

It was quite cold last night. I have an ornamental brass monkey - today I notice it has become a eunuch.
