with the 4,000 season ticket holders, they have more season ticket holders than thier average attendence (3,444 last year). this will mean there are more people coming to the games, giving them a bigger chance to sell merchendice, programmes and food. plus, there will also be the people who come regularly to the matchs and buy normal tickets, which again will add to the revenue. dont know if thats got any logic behind it or if im talking a load of rubbish but thats my thoughts
spot on josewwfc I think its kind of like ryan air sell cheap plane tickets then have loads of merch and other add ons really expensive when your on the flight. The same is what Hartlepool are trying to acheive, make entry cheap then hopefully they can sell more merch and food inside the ground.
I think it is a very good idea for teams in the lower leagues. The increase does not just generate extra income................. It generates more of an atmosphere which has to be a good thing It may generate and increased number of 'loyal fans' If the 2 above happens and a team gets promoted then these numbers should increase accordingly.
Well done Hartlepool. Just wish the people that run our club stopped scratching their heads looking at the empty seats and did something similar. Quid-a-Kid was a successful start but why stop there? Why not, on a cold Feb night at home to Walsall make it £8 per adult. Just some sort of initiative for the average fan.
This is fantastic, I really hope it works for them and other clubs take notice. Football should be affordable for everyone, I must be missing something but surely it's a no brainer for clubs to reduce prices to get more fans through the door. As said above, it can generate more match day sales and creates a much better atmosphere. If clubs weren't so greedy this kind of initiative would be common practice.
