I see that Nathan Redmond was 30 the other day. 30? It felt like he played for us for decades! As I've said elsewhere, a player who was given a dreadful time by a section of our fans, but I'll move on. He scored some great goals, and I'll salute him for the goal he scored against Liverpool in the EFL semi-final home leg that meant we took a lead to Anfield - cue Titanic and Shane Long! Lovely player, in my opinion, and a real loss when he went. Belated Happy Birthday, Nathan.
For a player that was given such a hard time by some of our fanbase, he made almost 200 appearances for us. I always wanted Nathan to do well as he seemed like a nice genuine lad and always had ability. Of course there's no doubt that he should have scored far more goals (only 21 with us). But he scored a few crackers over those years, the goal away to Palace always springs to my mind. Belated Happy Birthday Nathan.
I liked him. Dunno why so many people hated him. Sure, he wasn’t a top half PL player. But he’s a decent PL player and a top professional. Big shame we let him go tbh
I certainly don't hate Redmond; he seems like quite a likable person. But he's not a PL-calibre player now and he hasn't been for quite a while. On a Burnley side in desperate need of cutting edge, he has played all of 133 minutes this season, and Burnley fans pretty much unanimously want him fobbed off in the summer: https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=74767
Luckily for him, we aren’t in the PL. I wouldn’t be against bringing him home if we stay down next season
