Well the Daily Fail have done an entirely scientific study for us based on "hard facts" www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3011776/Are-Manchester-United-Liverpool-Arsenal-Chelsea-biggest-club-Sportsmail-s-study-finally-settles-football-s-great-debate.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Pure clickbait!
We now finally know how to calculate who is the 'biggest' Crowds, Global Fanbase, Trophies, Average League Finish, Player Quality ,Income Just a couple casual observations following a quick scan of the table:- We have a bigger global fan base than Leeds Utd? That cannot be - they are truly massive worldwide (from what I am told, okay mostly by Leeds fans). At the same time, our global fan base is less than that of QPR? Really? How does a club with a local support that is little more than 60% of ours, have such a large overseas following? Have they all emigrated? As you say - clickbait and I would suggest wholly unreliable
If it was based on family enclosure you lot would be top of the pile as you are all such wonderful people.
If you read on Thai, global following is based on Facebook and twatter following, so is only allowing for latest fan trends.
He's just jealous because the only category the Binners have on us is their much-vaunted history of trophies - and yet they're only two places above us in 23rd!
Am I missing something here ? That table says we have won 28 trophies to Ipswich's 25, granted not as prestigious and we are also shown in 23rd place with Ipswich in 37th ?
Quite honestly, I don't care how big we, or any other club is, NCFC has been my number one club for over 60 years and always will be! Some of you may joke about me being a Watford fan or a Sunderland fan, the truth is, I have many friends from both of those clubs and I always wish them well EXCEPT when they play us! Ask them, they'll all vouch for me!
Interesting that league finish & trophies seems to let us down. Income & global fan indicates we should be higher than our final placing. Crowds also lets us down, but I guess this is based on size of ground as opposed to % of ground filled. My conclusion from this for what its worth (not a lot) is that the performances on the pitch fall short of our off pitch activities and that we need to increase ground capacity. So doesn't really tell us anything we didin't already know. Good indicators for the future though.
That ranking is based on how many players played for both your club and won international caps... For England... Think you might have it loaded against you there!
Slightly strange way of assessing it. An international player is still an international player no matter which nation he represents. As for Notts Co. and Blackpool, they did have international players in the mists of time.
What does it matter how big it is? - big isn´t always better by any means, in fact quite the opposite is true in many cases. It´s not how big the club is that´s important, it´s what you do with it that counts.
