Does anyone know? With monthly contracts for the players and we presume day to day running expenses being met by season ticket sales, match tickets and merchandising, or is TB using parachute payments, we seem no closer to a new owner or coming out of administration is everyone waiting to see how we perform on the pitch and try to recoup the inevitable 10 point deduction before getting off the fence? Is BC providing any more day to day funding and if so at what cost? Many questions but no answers or am I missing something?PUP
I'm not an expert at this, so others will know more, but Birch appears to be running PFC as a "going-concern" prior to CVA and sale. Both Portpin and the PST have been issued with contracts of sale so Birch is expecting one of them to end up as a buyer. As things stand he won't be taking any funds from Chanrai as that will only add to the debts. The club have recently appointed staff to the academy so that is a clear indication that the club's future is a continuing one, otherwise he would have never authorised additional staffing levels, even if they are required to meet the EPPP regulations. There is a suspicion growing that Chanrai's re-emergence as a buyer is to try and get liquidation to recoup his ill-advised high-risk investment. I personally think we are looking at PST as being the next owners of the club. They both have to get their bids finalised and in to him Friday next week.
I just hope TB can see what BC is up to all though he seems in the past to have favoured BC. Ominous.
Hmm - I'm not sure he favoured BC but at one point his bid was the only one on the table. Don't forget the trust hadn't even got their bid ready when the creditors meeting was held - was it back in April? By rights, Chanrai should have been able to finalise the purchase in June, even though the trust put in an initial bid. TB has been dragging his heels since the end of May - he can only have 2 reasons for doing that, i) the possibility of another buyer appearing or ii) to give the trust time to get their bid funded and finalised. TB has been completely silent, although once Chanrai pulled out bits of his bid started becoming common knowledge. With every day that passes the trust gets nearer and nearer to being able to be in pole position. Trevor Birch was a footballer - he knows what it means for the supporters - whose money funds the club. Plus he probably suspects the same as everyone else, if Chanrai gets the club he'll take his money and let the club go into liquidation.
One swallow PL - don't get too carried away........ unless Hermann appears on the pitch to shore up our defences
BC is in it for himself, nothing more, once he's got the majority of his money he'll put the club on ye market again at a high price so that he can recoup more money and rip off other potential buyers. PST - I fully admire those that have made pledges but now is the time that those pledges have to be turned into real cash, and at this moment in time I can't see as many people doing that as originally thought.
