Not getting a game there at Old Trafford and has fallen behind the pecking order again to Rooney, RVP and Hernandez it would seem. I reckon they will invest again in the summer and Welbeck is at an age where he needs games now not splinters up his arse.

We need a striker and we know Danny very well and of course he knows us well too.

Would SAF be tempted to sell this window or maybe even in the summer but I for one would be very happy to see him come back to us.

What would we need to offer to tempt Air Alex or would we be wasting our time?

I'd happily pay £10m or £12m for the lad personally as he is a perfect age and offers us a totally different option up front. Wickham (19), Fletcher (25) and Welbeck (22) as our 3 main strikers going forward and Sess (28) as another different option behind them.

Good player, if happy to play on the wing, cracking. Otherwise no.

MON isn't going to play two up front and £33m worth over three strikers is too much for one starting place in my eyes. Especially when we need to strengthen the midfield and get Rose in.

Bring him in if we can I say. He can play just behind a lone striker with sess if need be. His dribbling would be perfect for the role. I'm sure mon is also open to 2 up front at some stage, I wouldn't let the current strategy put me off. He just doesn't trust the other strikers. I seem to remember mon using both gabby and the big Norwegian dude up front a lot at villa. Going for memory here, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd be well happy to take him back but didn't he just sign a new contract last season? Think he would add that bit of pace up front and would work really well with Fletcher. Go get him MON.

Didn't he get injured, hence the lack of game time?

He's also on £75k a week I believe after signing that new 5 year contract.

Would love him back but cannot see it happening.

    I thought that too.
Rooney is now out for a few weeks again, so can't see this one being a goer.

Agree with earlier posts. He would be brilliant for us but he is now on a mega contract at old Trafford
