Typical. Awful timing for us. Let's hope there is no new manager bounce for them.

What are they playing at though? Who can they have in mind to do the job long term?

Like I said in the other thread; I don't think this gives us any more or any less of a chance - our own experiences this season would back that up.

    This...

We should only focus on our performance and make sure that we take the 3 points. Think both players and fans will be fired up...

Hi guys, long time no speak......

As far as I can fathom, this can be the only reason for the sacking yesterday, to give everyone a massive lift before the real crunch game at the Cottage. I think the feeling among the fans, and quite possibly the players was that we had no chance against you, with CH in charge, and more of the 'too defensive' approach was likely to be the order of the day. Neil Adams has been more attack minded in both his playing days and with his Under 18's, so I guess we are hoping for a more attacking display from the Canaries, with the shackles of CH's defensive plans shaken off.

Win or lose, Neil Adams has nothing to lose, and I am pretty sure that as a club, we had nothing to lose by removing CH, although I am well aware that many outsiders see it as a barmy move, but do they realise that a win on Saturday for Norwich, is likely to send Fulham down and save their own season? I suspect not, otherwise they could also see why what has happened, has happened.

Thanks for this. Makes sense to us as we have been through a number of manager changes this year. It is crunch time on Saturday but think it will still not be over who ever wins...

An alternative piece of Fulham history here perhaps. The 'hire and fire' guy currently at Norwich, McInally, also sacked Chris Coleman with five games to go.

"The Cottagers lie four points above the Premiership drop zone after a seven-game winless streak, but the sacking still comes as a surprise.

After consultation with the Irish FA president Jim Boyce, it is agreed that Lawrie Sanchez will join as caretaker manager for the remaining five Premiership games of the season."

Thai, welcomeback ol son. I totally get why the board did it. CH lost the fans a while ago from what I've read and you need 3 points this Saturday. CH got you to 11th last season, no mean feat, unfortunately it didn't work out this year after some promising and positive acquisitions pre season. What's happened to RvW? Is your position now due to CH alone?

    Welcome back TC!

I think it's the timing as much as anything that leaves people scratching their heads. Would it not have been better to get rid months ago? It's a huge gamble sacking him at this late stage, but as you say, you've nothing to lose in theory.

Many said (including myself) way back in December (some sooner), that he should have gone but the board were happy to keep him as a bottom 3 place did not appear to be forthcoming, although never really that far away. I suspect it has been left far too late, and the very real possibility of entering the relegation zone, combined with some particularly ugly scenes at Carrow Road on Saturday, made it near impossible to justify keeping him in charge.

The general feeling is that he was a nice guy, maybe too nice, but totally out of his depth.

It is a massive gamble, but perhaps keeping CH would have been a bigger one? We will never really know.

Points above are valid. However we changed managers, a poor team in decline these things take time to sort out - I don't think it made any difference when RM and FM came in immediately for us. I hope it's the same for Norwich.

I know there is a slight glimmer of hope for Norwich if you win on Saturday, it puts you just 2 points behind us and I can see you picking up at least 1 more win in the final 4. The one game I think we can look to is Arsenal on the last day of the season. If they have another off-day, then perhaps we can get all 3 points, but I am not personally all that optimistic. Lets get Saturday over with and see how the land lays<ok>

I just pray we finally manage to beat you.
