Just been having a look at this and I'm wondering what to do about the indexing. I need to think about re-structuring it. It would be great if we could create folders and drag posts into them to keep things tidy yet still accessible if required. Obviously there are some topics that will just fade into the background and don't need indexing but maybe there are some that we might wish to refer back to at some stage. Any views on this would be appreciated. It's not something I'll be rushing into just yet.
One thing I used to do on BBC606 was create my own indices. Here it would be even better because of the superior search facilities. If anyone wants to maintain their own indices on any topic they could just set up a thread (containing the word "Index") and maintain links to any related posts. To find them later just search on your thread titles containing "Index" and you will then have easy access to historic posts which, by then, will be scattered all over the place. I found it a good way of grouping related topics together for later reference. If anyone is interested in creating and maintaining any indexes please indicate below as it will be something I will be taking into account when re-structuring the main index. I have previously (long ago) raised the subject of sub forums with the site owner but nothing has been forthcoming. However, this subject has been raised again by more than one mod and it is now being considered. So that is another reason not to rush into re-structuring our own index just yet. But, in the meantime, any thoughts would be appreciated.
