FA Disciplanary committee say they decided on this punishment due to the fact that, and I quote ""This is Mr Ferdinand's first offence. He has a clear disciplinary record. He was the Football Association's 'Poster boy' and role model to other professional footballers in the use of Twitter and has a track record in fronting anti-racism campaigns in football." I mean really? What about the 8 month ban he received? Whilst I fully understand (Before UIR or any of the other circus members jump all over this) these are two very different scenarios, I don't see how this can be classed as his first offence! Just saying!
Terry is a racist, of that I have no doubt (not his first time being accused). That said... Rio acted inappropriately for sure and am humoured that he got slapped for it. Personally I think some things the fa should keep out of... let sponsors punish scummy people for their comments... but Rio has been asking for trouble.
I still maintain there is no such thing as a good role model that's a footballer; it's impossible to be a good role model when you're on 50k+ a week. They're all at least guilty of reckless spending.
