A bit macabre; and possibly desperate, but it would be useful to have a few players absent from the Manchester United line up next week.

Let's hope Southampton's pressing game gives rise to a few selection problems ahead of next Saturday....

Get me an LS 41 snipers rifle and a train ticket to Manchester and I'll see what I can do. :)

Persie should have got a yellow just now for throwing the ball at the ref. if I was the ref I wouldn't have taken that. But I suppose it's Man United and you might get in trouble for not giving them the advantage.

I agree. Disgraceful attitude by van Persie. As you mentioned, the referee bottled it.

Should have called him over after the ball went out of play for a goal kick and booked him for unsporting conduct.

Big team bias. No doubt we'll see more of this next Saturday.

    Wishful thinking, sadly.

Southampton gave an object lesson into having a game plan.

They attacked from the first whistle and never let go of the momentum.

As such, there's a lot of top class defending and pressing to do if we're to nullify Manchester United on Saturday.

    The key question is:

Do we have the players with the skill, stamina, desire and attitude to keep this up for 90+ minutes?

You know the answer, don't you Sku? A supplementary, but redundant, question would be "do we have a manager who would set a team up to play like that?"

Van Persie was booked. 5th yellow. Is he out for Saturday?

Saints showed how to play against utd. LVG rather ungracious in his post game interview. Utd did not look great. Trust joey is taking it all in on motd2.
