For those of us that aren't able to get to get to the game (exiles, working, financially challenged), does anyone think that a stream can be found to watch it.

I bought one this morning online and printed it off at home - no queueing to collect.

Attendance I would guess is about 12,000. Deportivo 'workmanlike' without threatening. Sigurdsson not starting. Full- strength team out. 0-0 at half-time. Gomis,Ayew Routledge Shelves looking lively. Ayew had best chance after about 3 minutes.

Fabianski will be in a rather nice salmon/red colour this season. We had had to start the game with the floodlights on! Dark and drizzly - more like December than August 1st!

Montero, Sigurdsson and Tabanou have replaced Routs Taylor and Shelves at start of second half.

Still 0-0 after 70 minutes. Great stop there by Fabianski. We don't seem to be scoring much pre-season. Anyone worried? We've got some handbags at the moment.

Montero causing a lot of havoc second half. Dyer and Eder on for Gomis and Ayew.

Finished 0-0. Like the look of Tabanou. Powerful with a good shot. Eder could be a handful as well. We certainly seem to have more weapons in the armoury for the coming season. Going home now <laugh>

As close to the "real " thing we're going to see before Chelsea, players were out there today playing for a start next Saturday and on that showing I'd start with the 1st starting 11 with the exception of Montero in for Ayew, for me a disappointing display who lacked any guile going forward but with Montero on (who linked up well with Tabanou ) we threatened every time he ran at them , sometimes the end product wasn't good but some crossing was sublime .The scoreline didn't reflect the chances we had created but that being said some comedic defending on an other day could have been resulted in a undeserved result against us. I've never seen a side in a friendly who were content to kick out, time waste and sly pull backs all of which spoiled the game .Not a fair result but if you don't put our chances away then that's what you can expect.

Agree about Montero - every time he got the ball, everyone around me sat up. You could feel the anticipation - he created something every time he was on the ball.
Ayew - it is a friendly so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and not make a judgement on him yet. He seemed quite safe - as in he didn't make any mistakes or give the ball away, but neither did he contribute anything creative going forward.
Ki looks a bit bigger built to me this season - has he bulked up ? Maybe he'll be stronger on the ball.
Dyer looked good when he came on - very positive and attacked their left back.
Gomis - very strong, held quite a few players off under heavy pressure.
Eder - totally turned one of their defenders near the halfway line only to be body slammed by said defender or he was away. He could cause a few problems for defences I think.

Bring on Chelsea - let's see how we do when it matters. I'm sure most expect us to get beaten, as do I. I just hope it's not a demoralising thrashing. Two hammerings on opening days of the season stick in my mind:
1: the 5 we put passed QPR a few seasons ago and
2: When we stuffed Leeds 5 - 1 on our first venture in the top league in 1981.

On both occasions the defeated team ended up relegated....
