I was surprised to see Dragon's thread closed, prematurely and unnecessarily,in my opinion. It appears that some posters are unable to by-pass posts that may be ever so slightly off topic. It's really quite easy to do,if one is so inclined. Since we still haven't actually signed a striker,I feel creating a similar thread to Dragon's would not go amiss. Clearly there is still some distance to travel on this subject. So,for those of a mind to continue the discussion, help yourself. Try to keep it as on topic as is possible.
I am not worried about the striker thing. I am sure we will have signed at least 2 prior to the start of the season. One hopefully Bony and I am sure we sign second option. Just keep the faith. It wasnt that long ago we were all (well some of us) moaning we hadnt signed anybody. A few weeks later and look how good it is looking.
The recent transfer activity highlights the nonsense that was being played out in the media. Signing Bony, and I will need a stiff drink when that actually happens,is going to send out a real message of intent.
Happy you brought this back actually as stumpy made a great post that I wanted to agree wholeheartedly with RE the board and club. I have no doubt that things have changed since the falling out, the club have slipped through the gears nicely in the last few weeks which was something that wasn't happening before, all the hard work was done on these deals after January and we needed to move fast and quiet.
I brought it back because I felt there was unfinished business. As a side issue, Arouna Kone has joined Martinez at Everton, for £6,000,000.00.
I dont think Kone was ever realistic for us as long as Everton wanted him, He was always going to follow Martinez. I think there is better out there for us, even our second striker.
Well done vetch for resurrecting the subject as I too felt there was more mileage in the subject!... so too business, I'll forgive Huw his issues with Laudrup and his agent (Though his agent was mostly to blame) if he gets Bony on board. I originally posted by way of a hint, some 4 weeks back that the deal was good as done, but then the disagreement between both Vitesse and us, became a stumbling block, but it was mainly due to Vitesse, quite naturally expecting some higher bids from West Ham and Chelsea, which didn't happen, so it's looking very positive again on the Bony front, and he's having a medical tomorrow by all accounts, so here's hoping all goes well!...............
