'Apparently' there will be now a big police presence at our game tomorrow. 'Apparently' The city hooligan contingent are planning a little visit to Gloucester Road after their game vs Cardiff which is an early kick off 1pm. Taken from the OS forum... http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/108504-big-police-presence-tmw/ Not sure where this person got their info from so may not be true which I hope is the case. If it is true, what is the point! I just dont get the violence.
lets be honest if city had any kind of hooligan quality>>>>it wouldnt be coming back in any shape 2 fight after visiting us welsh ****s ............if i were you boys i wouldnt worry one bit..........the jacks always promise us the much feared den hagg hools but they seem 2 go missing we in our location .......... we are evil
well i was driving and i was parked by the wellington and drove all down gloucester road to the centre and see 2 police cars that were parked and 1 ambulance with its sirens on. thats it. so if there was any trouble, it was after i was gone from the area as i didnt see a thing. i havent read the OS forum yet so dont know what they have added to it. i have heard from a city friend who was at cardiff saying there was a lot of trouble from your lot and he thinks city vs cardiff will go back to a bubble match again as apparently a pub got trashed. i get rivalries but not the violence. cant see the point to be honest. all clubs have a set of fans like this and i just cant see why this happens.
It won't go back to bubble trips for a few years at least mate, and that's if we stay up as well. They are going up and I suspect with ting tong backing them and being the capital of Wales will be an attraction to oversea players arriving there. Whittingham in my opinion has always been a prem player quality, but has been really loyal to them. Should get his wish soon playing in the prem and playing for them.
good point rod, i didnt even think about the possibility of you going down or them going up. if you get a cup game then?? i know your the wrong person to say this to as where your from but if cardiff go up, it will be so weird seeing to welsh clubs in the english prem league will be interesting to see a new derby though for the prem stage.
I do get a lot of comments being Welsh that I should support a Welsh team but I'm basically the same as everyone. The teams we support are bred into us. My grandfather was Bristolian and my uncles. My father is never interested in football so as kids we were told who we supported. Bit like you lot its tradition you follow your family who you support. Plus to me Bristol is 16 miles from my little village where's Cardiff is 32 miles. Most of them around here supported Newport growing up who then adopted Cardiff when they went out of the league. Be interesting what they do if County come back. But back to the Welsh derbies in the prem, I think it will be good not just for them but for us lot it will put the South Wales onto the footballing map which will knock on to the South West as more and more will start supporting football from a prodomently rugby supporting area. Which could be a benefit as we could start moving in the direction of the North West areas. Cardiff I think will get better with their backing and fans could see with the support you can achieve the stuff we all dream off. Get the support and then the finances follow, a knock on affect so alls good. Remember 3 years ago Cardiff could of been wound up but the new ground and as my ex boss said a return of the families bought them this success. Just think you lot or us with both grounds your new one our redevelopment (which I think will work for us look at WBA ground was a old stadium now looks new) could be just like Cardiff or Swansea it does happen.
as neither bristol side will be in the prem any time soom, if cardiff make it then i might to and watch the odd game like arsenal and man utd (if i can get a ticket) as cardiff aint that far away. depends if gas are playing at home the same day.
I couldn't do that, when I took on my new role ex colleague's of mine was laughing that I might have to take customers to see them for corporate days. But I did once in my younger days watch Leicester take on you lot at Eastville just because I wanted to see Lineker and Smith partnership before they both moved on to Arsenal and Spurs. They won I think 3-0, and I did watch England against Germany in euro 96 semi final but couldnt sing "we love you England" so I suppose I did do it younger just got more stubborn in my older years
i dont do away games anyway so if cardiff are at home vs a big prem club then i might go if i can get tickets. but will be in the away end though. cardiff is an hour away so thats ok for me. not really classed as travelling away so the wife should be ok with that. i nearly went to the gate in december. friends of mine are wolves fans and i was going to go with them to watch the game from away end. i didnt in the end though which i was gutted about as you lost didnt you??
