Ambitious and I can't see any mileage in it. Perhaps he could take Bradders instead? http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/bolton_wanderers/11544902._/?ref=mac
What a surprise! - wouldn´t be astonished if it happened though, Lennon was the only one who could get him scoring regularly.
Perhaps Lennon has spoken to him, and he wants to go - based purely on speculation, following his total lack of interest yesterday.
We gave C Martin away and he is the best player in this league Bassong to Watford to give then auto spot Holt will get Huddersfield up there Winkel is in France on loan and now Hooper . Ffs we are in danger of ****ing this right up by our own actions if we are not careful.
Overreaction much? Unless Hooper is incredibly unhappy (no sign of that as far as I know) there is close to 0% chance of this happening. Look where Bolton are.
Giving Bassong to Watford was mental and Martin must be worth easily £10m now It was a toss up between RVW and Hooper to leave we went with Hooper who has missed the first 10 games and seems to want out. How is that an overreaction Rob?.
Bassong had to go somewhere because of his wages and the fact he wasn't going to play at Norwich. Watford are probably the only club in the country capable of affording him who might have been interested. I think it was a sensible move, because we've already beaten Watford once. It was always going to be a tough one though. Time will tell, but I doubt it will do us much damage. Selling C Martin, with retrospect, has looked bad. But at the time he was sold I doubt there was a single Norwich fan who thought it wasn't a sensible decision for the player as well as the club. He was nowhere near our first team, mentally and physically unfit for the Premier League. Luckily for Derby, he's a risk that paid off. RvW was never going to stay. We got unlucky with Hooper's injury, but that decision was spot on - he is much the more suited player to the Championship and twice the player C Martin is. As for the statement that he "seems to want out" - where the hell is that from? I'm aware he would have liked to leave this summer, but I suspect so did many players who thought they might get a PL offer. Since the transfer window shut there is virtually no evidence he wants out, and even less evidence to suggest he wants to go to a Championship relegation club.
Is it magic mushroom season already? How is C Martin ever worth £10M?! Also, what are we supposed to do? Keep a squad of 40 players, thereby denying any of our better players from the last 5 years a life outside of Norfolk, lest they have the audacity to score a goal elsewhere? Come on, mate! Martin left at the right time. Same with Holt. Butterfield (who I think you were crying out for earlier) was the right signing at the wrong time. I agree that Watford was an unfortunate destination to send Bassong though.
Hooper is twice the player Hooper Is?. Based on what Rob please enlighten me. <edit Martin tiny button small screen typo fail>.
I was crying out for Butterfield to do what? I don't recall ever mentioning him but feel free to just make up random statements. Derby and Watford will probably get promoted and Martin will contribute with more assists and goals than Hooper that is a certainty. Bassong is way better than our centre backs and should rot in the reserves or go out to another league. Can you see Derby Watford or Forest loaning us their best players?
Well no, I'd agree that Hooper is exactly the equal of Hooper. But as for Hooper v C Martin, if we're to take stats, Hooper has achieved far more in his career in terms of goals at each level where you can compare them. And Hooper is technically much better all round. C Martin is a good striker now, but Hooper is, and almost certainly will always be, better.
McGoldrick is rated at £10m Fulham paid about that for Mccormac and Martin is better than both and still very young.
Sorry, 23, it was somebody else on the matchday thread that mentioned Butterfield. For some reason I thought it was you Just because Watford and Derby are currently 1 and 2 doesn't mean they're automatic shoo-in's for aoutomatic promotion. People may have said the same of ourselves and Forest 2 games ago. I agree about Bassong, but we must trust our manager that he perceives him to be better off outside the tent pissing in, then inside the tent, pissing in...if that misquoted analogy makes any sense!
I don't have the energy or time for one of your mamoth 6 page trademark squabbles but on current form for the last 2 seasons Hooper is no way as good as Martin yes Hooper was brilliant in Scotland but that was a long time ago .
Ooh ouch, your biting insults cut really deep. Classy from you there. Presumably you mean the last one season because this season doesn't count given that Hooper has played 30 mins. Last season he got a goal every 267 minutes in the Premier League (essentially 1 in 3), Chris Martin got a goal every 176 minutes in the Championship (1 in 2). Hardly a resoundingly better performance from Martin and arguably not better at all given the significant gulf in quality between the two leagues. The season prior to that Hooper was obviously head and shoulders above Martin given. His Scottish league performance, Champions League performance and Martin's average form. I don't know what your problem with Hooper is, but both stats and, I suspect, the weight of opinion, is broadly against you. But you haven't got the energy for a six page squabble so I'm sure you'll just accept defeat now...
