The way the Celtic CEO spoke, I think they are resigned to losing him.

i can see us bidding again. he'll need more supply than RvW for sure - going back to the ongoing discussion on here about style of play.

He won't thrive on the lump and thump approach for sure - we'd need to show a different attacking intent (or even an attacking intent full stop) if we signed Hooper. I expect him to be a Spud next year.

If we can pick him up for not very much cash I think it is worth the gamble that he can turn from being a flat track bully in Scotland to a successful Premier League forward. He is young and hungry and will, like RvW, probably see a move to Norwich as putting himself in the shop window.

Probably not but at this moment in time I would rather have RVW & Hooper as forwards than what we currently have, so I do not see it as a backward step <ok>

He may do okay, he might not but the same can be said of anyone else we are likely to get in.

A RVW and Hooper pairing would be so much better than our current choices, so I'm not sure why people wouldn't want Hooper, he looks like a pretty decent player

He has played in the Championship for S****horpe and did well - 19 goals in 35 games.

Surely that just serves to demonstrate he did extremely well to score the amount of goals he did?

18 appearances and 7 goals in Europe suggests talent a few degrees above League One.

I don't really follow the logic of that argument but actually Scunthorpe didn't even get relegated that season. It was the season after, when he had moved to Celtic, that they were relegated.

    a) I don't accept that the SPL is equivalent to league 1 (see GGs reply) b) so what if it was true, doesn't mean he's not an improvement, I think he's got a good first touch, actually fecking runs into space, pulls defenders out of line and makes space for himself and other players - something out strikers have not been great at this season.

Sorry longsight but in my humble opinion, Holty is better than Hooper and RvW is better than both! At the sort of silly money Celtic were asking, it's a no thank you from me!

dave, hooper is what mid-twentys, and holt is 32. we need a replacement for holty, despite all his good-service for us, sooner rather than later.
personally I think Holt will leave in the summer, although i'd like him to stay for 1 more season.
