Norwich manager Chris Hughton has moved to secure Wes Hoolahan's long-term future by opening talks over a new contract. The Republic of Ireland midfielder, 30, has established himself as a firm favourite at Carrow Road. Meanwhile Birmingham goalkeeping coach Dave Watson has asked permission to speak to Norwich to join up with former boss Hughton. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...wants-Wes-Hoolahan-Norwich.html#ixzz1zAF7mIhT
good news. always important to have players who can unlock a game and although little wesley won't play every game, he is an important player and would cost a fortune to replace with someone who has his ability.
I'd say Steer is the most likely - probably to a Championship club this time (maybe Brum if Butland gets sold).
Allegedly, Southampton offered £6M for Butland. That does seem as massive risk on a 19 year old with no league experience apart from Cheltenham. And I notice Forster couldn't agree terms with Celtic but Pardew wants rid. I bet he won't be £6M.
Good to see another player getting a contract extension. Haven't seen enough of Steer and Rudd to decide which one's better but from what I've seen of both them they seem like they both have good potential. Hopefully they can fulfil this potential an having one of the England goalkeeping coaches at Norwich certainly won't do any harm. Norwich and good goalkeeping talent seem to go Han in hand with the likes of Green, Rudd and Steer amongst others. But Lewis doesn't seem to have developed into the Premier League 'keeper we expected him to become. Hopefully Rudd and Steer will become Premier League 'keepers and they certainly pried what they are capable of in a couple of games last season.
I'd have thought our present goalkeeping coach/set up is plenty good enough given the quality we have brought through, I can't imagine there are many clubs who have been better than us in this department.
our current gk coach was always a stop-gap under lambert. what could be better than bringing in the most highly-rated gk coach in england today?
Totally agree supers - just waiting for confirmation that it has all been agreed and our trio of goalkeepers can continue to flourish.
