Why on earth would Stoke want him anyway?

    He's the antithesis of Pullis.

He is definitely one of the last players/I would want to leave. Even when he was taking a right slagging on 606 during the relegation season, I always thought he had the flair that is missing from the gas me at the moment.
He is infuriating at times, I remember screaming at him as he dribbled the ball out of his own box on Wednesday night. But when he is on song, he is a great foil for Holt and I would hazard a guess that the first player rival managers highlight in their team talks.

I've never understood people being infuriated by him.

You just need to accept that because of how he plays he's going to give the ball away at times, if he didn't he'd be Iniesta.

We are lucky to have him, there's plenty of other players in the team not willing to be brave and take risks.

Totally agree with that and he will occasionally lose the ball, but it is worth it for what he brings to the team!!

Always rated him the most we look flat and one dimensional without him. Only criticism is there are times I see him jinking on the outside of the box in space and I think Wes if you hit that well and right now that is going in the top corner, he has a crack every now and then but he usually go's for a pass or a mazy run.

I do think we need another creative playmaker in our midfield. I'm not a fan of all this passing it wide to Snodgrass and Pilkington, we're crossing the ball into nowhere or a crowded box with one forward, no offence to them but we are becoming very predictable and I'd rather see Holt get the ball at his feet more. At the beginning of the season I would of said our midfield is perfect, defensively they are like wall but I still reckon we need someone who plays in one of those defensive midfield roles but has the ability to distribute the ball about exceptionally.

I'd advocate this, we are crossing from silly positions due to a lack of movement or intention to work a better opportunity.

We take the easy option a bit to readily at the moment.

The wide players isolate Holt too much, I know they are capable of cutting in and beating their man but they need to be more disruptive, get the oppositions fullbacks out of position draw them towards the centre and start encroaching on the centre backs territory.

The only way I can see Fox being included (apart from injury/suspension) is if CH went three at the back, with Fox, Johnson and Tettey giving them protection in front.

With our unbeaten run still in progress and a much leaner, meaner defence don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen!

Exactly his the player we miss the most but it's not like we can drop anyone.

Such a formation would never happen.

I would like to see Fox and Tettey in defensive midfield, but B Johnson is doing well so there's no reason to drop him.

I think Fox could fit in myself for Johnson, we've never seen him play with Tettey next to him. I think he could protect Fox and allow him the space to spray the ball.

There is reason to drop him, we've not got enough attacking potent at the moment. Yes he is playing well but have to make tough decisions sometimes.

I've said a couple of times on other threads that while playing Johnson and Tettey is highly effective when we are playing the top teams (who dominate possession), when we are playing weaker opposition and need to breakdown the opposition we lack the creativity or killer pass. Weaker teams just need to crowd Wes and they stifle our game a lot. This brings us back to the earlier point that we need a DM to play alongside Tettey with the passing ability of Fox, or maybe in the short-term sacrifice a bit of defensive stability by swapping Johnson (who I agree is playing very well generally apart from his shooting) for Fox.
Tomorrows game would be a good time for this, but with Ruddy and Tina out, it would be a bit risky. Hence I expect another very low scoring game on Sunday.

Got me wondering, is that legal in football? Could you do a rugby style line-out to win a header?

They'd probably call it "ungentlemanly conduct!"

You could take it further than that. Stick Wessi on Crouch's shoulders, get your own keeper to trap the ball between Wessi's legs, Crouch then strolls up the pitch, with Wessi on his shoulders pretty much immune to a tackle, and then takes a shot when in a suitable position?

I've always wondered just how much you can get away with. Like if you have one person with the ball, and the other 10 players form a ring around him, completely preventing an opposition player getting near the ball, then just peel away when you reach the box and let the player shoot? Or would that be classed as obstruction.
