Pardon the topic, I always wanted to use that phrase After braking my NEW computer a few months ago, I finally got another new one today, and this was the first page I visited(well after checking my mail). Talk about good timing two days before the season kicks off God I missed this forum and everyone using it, even those I disagree with. I wish everyone an enjoyable F1 season, and looking forward to constructive debates I would also like to ask for help with two things, and thought I'll throw it in here rather than creating more threads. Hope it's okay.. 1) I want to have "the ring" BBC F1 opening tune as my ringtone, but have no idea where to look for it. Anyone know where to get it for free(being a poor student atm)? 2) As I live in Sweden, and currently can't afford to get sky or any type of paid subscription, I will most probably be looking for torrents to download and watch a few hours after each race. My question is if anyone know of a torrent tracker, or other place, that usually post such things with reasonable fast pre times. I might come off as a cheaparse here, but having borrowed money for this computer I will be living on canned tuna for the near furture lol If it is not okay to talk about such things on the forum, please send me a PM if you can help. Cheers!
You live in Sweden and you're asking for torrent site information? lol. Downloads are okay for hi-def viewing but there are plenty of streaming sites you can visit to watch the races live. Keep an eye on the race thread OP. 'The Chain' is the BBC theme - the Fleetwood Mac track. I'm sure it must be widely available in Sweden.
Torrents usually take 24ish hours to appear, then another 24 to be well seeded..... not that I would know... Anyway, welcome back!
Does Sweden not have its own television coverage. Is the sky deal not UK only, each country to their own distribution network?
Welcome back. You should be able to watch it live through the links posted here. (If you still want to download things,) normally I use isoHunt.
Welcome back! Will you be returning to GPRO too? (New season doesn't start for a week). If so, Mifune has started a second (private) forum, where we've got quite a lot of data put together, which you're more than welcome to join.
Yea well I haven't used any private tracker since a few years back when streaming got popular and those I used to use are no longer running. I never thought there would be free live streams, but surely they will most probably have unsatisfying commentators right? I love Brundle and DC, and also those on the 5live team. I got a bit overwhelmed by the amount of new threads I have missed since my last visit lol. Cheers I will keep an eye on the race thread! And ahh yes, its the chain not the ring, no wonder I couldn't find it haha I used to grab the BBC coverage torrents like 30 minutes post race on a tracker I was a member of during the first half season of 2009 before I figured out how to use a British proxy to see the live stream from the BBC website. Surely there must be a tracker with some F1 enthusiasts still. Well we can still get sky here if we pay for it, and the Swedish coverage is utter garbage. They sit in a studio here in Sweden and repeating everything that the British commentators are saying. And we don't get much(if any) pre and post race coverage with interviews and analysis etc. And even if we would I would still choose to watch the British coverage any day as it is in FACT the best by miles coverage in the world. Well at least the BBC one. Having seen some sky clips from testing on youtube, I am very sceptic to its quality compared to BBC, though it still cant be worse than the Swedish one.
Cheers mate, I will check that out, but I rather see a quality coverage post race than a crappy coverage live. Yea I know most of the public trackers but their pre times are usually painfully slow. Was hoping someone would throw an invite to a good private tracker at me ;P Hey mate, I had gpro in my mind often and thought about it soo many times to log in from somewhere else to give admin to someone else but time went by so fast. Didn't think I would be computerless this long. I am more or less burried in studies at the moment but I really missed GPRPO and very much like to get back into it. Love to join the new group, cheers
It'll be the Sky pre- and post-race show and the Sky race broadcast with David Croft and Brundle commentating.
wooooohoooo thats awesome! So maybe I can repeat what I did last year to watch every single session live Cheers mate
You're a good guy aren't you Chrispa⦠I say that without the slightest sarcasm and mean it exactly as I say it. Members like you make this place what it is and I'm very pleased you've returned. I wish you well with your studies while you work out how to repay the cost of your computer! I would suggest that whatever its cost, it's likely to be less than a year's Sky subscription here; and that I'm sure you're sufficiently resourceful to overcome the politics of F1 which are now affecting the viewers directly! I wish you good luck and would like to reassure you that this forum has a depth of membership which should keep you up to date with the best options. Incidentally, are you still able to get what the BBC will be covering? It's a poor show compared to what went before but 50% of races live means that during those 50%, we can send a very loud message to F1!⦠And the other 50% of highlights. Hmm⦠I've stopped dead in my tracks: I don't know what to say. As a British citizen involved in motor racing, I feel genuinely apologetic: what has happened to the fans here is a travesty⦠I'm sorry you are likely to be affected as much as so many of the UK's population. Keep posting here, OK?
@cosi Thank you for the kind words sir. I always admired, not only your ability to word everything so elegantly, but also the fact that it shows that you have put thought behind everything you write. I very much am looking forward to constructive positive debates this season too. Yes I am still able to watch everything by BBC. I use http://www.bbc.co.uk/ as my browser start page, and use the BBS RSS feed as my source for international news. Free brittish proxy's are not hard to find so everything that is 'freeview' in the UK is so for me too Lets hope that with Brundle and Croft on their team, the Sky coverage will be better than what many people have feared. Cheers!
