Honda is sending the message "come and get me" to Liverpool,Presently I think our midfield is packed. What do you think.? http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/liverpools-japanese-target-opens-departure-door
It doesn't!! Although, previously he has stated he would love to join Liverpool and apparently we are interested in him.
It's a tough decision - because we need a deep lying playmaker (he can play there) but we've just signed Henderson and as you say our midfield is saturated. Although it would make our squad much stronger.
I think Henderson will be your new RM and not CM. Honda is a lovely passer of the ball, with great composure and control. But as you said your midfield options already are many and other areas of the team need strengthened.
Yeah very true. I think he may be even more frustrated being at Liverpool as he will clearly spend a fair bit of time on the bench. To be honest, other than a few games i aint really seen a great deal of the guy. Worth a punt maybe to strengthen our squad depth.
If we get rid of Aqua, Cole plus send Shelvey on loan.. we'd have Gerrard, Raul M, Lucas, Hendo, Spearing, Maxi plus Honda? Seven players to take 3/4 positions, would be good for squad depth but doubt it'll happen!
Not you again Lucas has been one of our consistent performers. He was voted by his team-mates as player of the season. His international boss has said he is going to be Brazil captain and he's the first name on his team-sheet.Now I think they know more than you do.
I can see this as to why we get him. Plus as someone stated Hendo could be used more on the wing. I won't include maxi as much as he knows he is a bit part player. Squad depth, it is always needed. We are a bit fickle at times, we want squad depth but then kind of wonder why we get a player that would add depth for us? Plus the whole shirt sales etc, but honda can play and would be fantastic. Gerrard/Raul Honda Lucas looks good to me.
if the price is right he is willing to be a squad player then all is good. If he turns out more than that it's a bonus but I would expect that would be his contribution, that and shirt sales. He is decent it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the prem if he arrives
Not a bad idea for using Henderson on the right. He's a ground coverer and moreso thats whats exactly needed on the right.Basically thats why Ray Houghton was on the right. Before him,Ronnie Whelan on the left.Liverpool always did it,Ray Kennedy in the 70s,Jimmy Case did it too,Ian Callaghan was another. They always had a lung-buster on the other side.Whether it be Terry Mac,Craig Johnston,(One of the quickest players to play for the club),John Barnes,Peter Thompson,Steve Heighway. That in itself compliments itself.
Didn't Henderson start on the right of Sunderland's midfield, before being bought into the middle due to injuries at the club?
Thats true.He did,as I said and this is from what I noticed and this may and don't quote me on it,Kenny and Damien Comolli may have been impressed by the amount of ground he covers, and Damien Comolli and this is from what I heard he looks for is the amount of games he played. He played 37 out of 38 premier league games. There is also that he created 84 goal-scoring chances, there was forwards only that created more.
KPR..I'm sure we wouldn't have paided out all that money without a clear plan for him, right hand side? Maybe where does that leave Deadly Dirk? Henderson first came to the attention of the big boys as a striker, and has admitted he needs to greatly improve on his goal to games ratio.
If we can get him for 10 odd million then yes. He is a good player, plus he would raise our global profile. Loving the fact we're spending money, instead of bargaining bin players.
