First home game of the season in the English League Cup....also known as the Carabao Cup.

A chance for Rooney to try and correct the shambles that Argyle sank to at Sheffield W.

That was as one-aided a game as you could expect to see but of of course, that’s as it should be, no disrespect to Cheltenham.

Issaka got the MotM on-screen and he was unplayable. By the same measure, Cissoko was not far behind though when he came on. In truth though there was no-one out there who wasn’t worth an 8/10.

The fireworks even seemed to mark a good performance, appearing over the Green Taveners roof right on cue at the end.

There will be much harder games to come but I think Wayne Rooney will be delighted with this after the literally shocking performance on Saturday.
