After recent revelations of Hess' annoyance over Jason Brown's twitter remarks, one of my bloggers GeminiSwift investigated whether football is technophobic. An excellent read, please take a look. http://theshoutingmen.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/is-football-technophobic/ Could you all please like the facebook page I created as well, it would be much appreciated http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Shouting-Men-Blog/236585916360612
Woo hoo I have been quoted!! Although I did make the now infamous "lady of the night" comment tongue firmly in cheek! I think there is a vast difference between goal line technology and twitter though. As I said previously I feel twitter is a very good tool for staying in touch with friends and family, I use it myself (@Nstarkey (follow me now!!!) but for business purposes it is just too impersonal. By JB using it he let thousands of peeps (I don't know how many followers he has) including many football agents to his availability not just us. If he was serious there are offical routes to follow
This article may reach an accurate conclusion and contains fluent prose but it uses all the wrong evidence as recognised by BSG. Sure, there may be dragging of feet over slomo replays for refs and goal line technology but this should not be confused with the reasonable expectation that employment through highly personalised contracts and which are subject to negotiation must stay confidential. The dividing line between what is and what is not for the public domain is a thin one. To promote a players availability and ability is perfectly acceptable. To intrude on contract terms and to try and establish leverage for negotiation is not. If you want a cleaner a mechanic or a builder you might look on the internet. If you want someone to renew your heart valve or paint your portrait you might prefer a personal negotiation.
