    Nice article, i have to agree that with his lack of loyalty and our new signings that we shouldn't even bother with him now, I have no doubt that we've signed better players on lower wages so a definite no from me too :)

    The missing bit of the jigsaw is how competitive is the contract on offer. If it is insulting then Maher has every right to shop around and do his best for wife and family after a decent season. On the other hand if he being offered a good deal, the club has every right to be indignant. the fact is that fans do not have the information to come to any opinion.

    The guy has previous. That's enough for me to make an opinion. If we're only good enough because no one else wants him then he's not right for us.

    Maher played for a Yeovil team of trialists last night that got hammered 4-1 by Dorchester. Got a sneaking feeling we might still see him turning up at Priestfields after all.

    Sadly loyalty is just for the fans these days, Maher is fully in his rights to shop about for a better deal, and there is not a lot we can do about it. The club is foolish for not putting a deadline on the contract decision.

    I dont understand y we want him. ive never wanted him, always thought jack payne was better. And after all this and the midfield we have now, i dont want to see him in a gills shirt again
