I did a little research and it appears we must have 8 home grown players in the squad of 25. I looked at what we have and discounted Monk and Tate as I don't believe they will figure in the squad next year - unless its to make up the Home grown numbers. Will this affect who we buy or sell or release as we seem very close to the limit especially with Ash possibly moving. F= Foreign H= home grown Michel Vorm F Kyle Bartley H Neil Taylor H Chico F Alan Tate H BUT LEAVING Ashley Williams H Leon Britton H Miguel Michu F Pablo Hernandez F Nathan Dyer H David Cornell H Roland Lamah F Wayne Routledge H Garry Monk H BUT LEAVING Itay Shechter F Luke Moore H Jonathan de Guzman F Dwight Tiendalli F Angel Rangel F Darnel Situ F Sung-Yeung Ki F Gerhard Tremmel F Kemy Agustien F
Jazz Richards & Rory Donelly need to be added ,possibly going Kemy, Tate ,Shechter ,Tiendalli , Bartley. If the story uis tryue about 4-6 new signings then the club will have to offload a number of players
Rory may not make it Scottish and Irish are not considered home grown unless they came through the system? If we lose Tate Monk Bartley and say Ash then we have to bring in some homegrowns - anyone have any idea who - all we've heard about -and ML has referenced their value - are foreign players. If Jazz is out on loan I don't think he is named in the squad of 25.............................. just getting a little worried especially as ML says he wants a smaller squad and the likely candidates to leave are people like Cornell and Moore. Anyone know where we can see the squad of 25 for this season?
For a player to be considered a "homegrown" he must have been trained by a club in the English or Welsh FA for three years between the age of 16 and 21. This means that you can by an 18 years old Brazilian player and he will be considered "homegrown". If an English or Welsh player are at a foreign club between the age of 16 and 21, he will not be considered a "homegrown" if he returns to the UK...
The price of home grown players will shoot up in the summer. Never has there been a better time to sort out our youth system.
